If the Windows endpoints in your environment do not have admin privileges, you can use the Pulse Client Installer program, which is available on the admin console System Maintenance Installers page. The Pulse Client Installer allows users to download, install, upgrade, and run client applications without administrator privileges. In order to perform tasks that require administrator privileges, the Pulse Client Installer runs under the client's Local System account (a powerful account with full access to the system) and registers itself with Windows' Service Control Manager (SCM). An Active-X control or a Java applet running inside the user's Web browser communicates the details of the installation processes to be performed through a secure channel between the Pulse Secure server and the client system.

The Pulse Secure VPN installed client is an application that runs on your desktop, laptop or mobile device and allows you to connect directly to the UCSF network as if you were on campus. When you are connected to the UCSF network, all your applications will work the same way they do when you are on campus.

Alternatively, I have seen customers downloading the most recent pulse secure client directly from the following link - -download/. However, it is not a recommended pulse version for connecting with SRX series devices.

To my knowledge, anyone can create a "customer care case" (ie non-technical case) and in that case you can mention this KB thread (mentioning that no entitlement should be required) yet your CSC account is not allowing you to download pulse client.

worked like a charm

And instead of copying config file I created a script that runs after install and creates a file with all the configuration and imports it to the pulse client

here is the config file

The UF Health VPN client uses your myUFL (Gatorlink) username and password to authenticate you. It then creates a secure channel between your remote computer and the UF Health network, and routes all traffic to and from UF Health through that channel. The VPN will allow you to access UF Health systems as if you were onsite.

When deploying Junos Pulse desktop to end-users, if the Junos Pulse client is pre-installed on Windows OS and an image is created from this, which is shared across multiple endpoints, then the local machine ID that gets stored in the Junos Pulse Connection Store configuration data file will be the same for every machine that the image is used on.

There are a bunch of crash reports in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ for the process dsAccessService which is kicked off by the LaunchDaemon /Library/LaunchDaemons/net.pulsesecure.AccessService.plist. Running the command the LD uses maunally as root results in a segmentation fault: 11. Seems to be a code issue in that backend service.

Starting on April 24, 2018, if you access UW resources from off-campus through a remote desktop or network file-sharing application, you will be required to first use the Husky OnNet VPN, a department/unit VPN, or UW Medicine secure virtual private network (VPN) service. A VPN is an application on your computer that establishes a secure connection to a network. You must first connect to a UW department/unit VPN before accessing UW resources from off-campus with a remote desktop or file-sharing application. The UW offers a free VPN service for all current students, faculty and staff, called Husky OnNet. UW Medicine employees with AMC credentials should use the UW Medicine SSL VPN called Pulse Secure. Individual UW departments may offer additional VPN services.

2017 Prediction: Software-Defined Thin Client Adoption will Increase with Windows 10 Rollouts. Organizations looking to deliver Windows 10 will increasingly consider virtual desktop technology from providers including Citrix, VMware, Microsoft and others. This will enable them to simplify their Windows 10 migration projects while also enabling organizations to use existing end user hardware and repurpose older PCs through the use of a software-defined thin client approach.

2017 Prediction: Multi-Purpose Terminal Devices will be on the Rise. As users persist in their demands for workforce mobility, IT will respond. The most secure and reliable solution is the multi-purpose terminal device, or thin client. Because this technology requires effective mobile device management, a wave of new thin client management features will emerge to support device awareness for increased management, security and control. The result will be an increasingly secure, reliable method to support the mobile worker. e24fc04721
