1. Who We Are

Pulse Fit is an offline-first personal fitness tracking app. We are committed to user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data (if any) we interact with and how.

2. Data We DO NOT Collect

We do not collect, access, store, or transmit:

• Your name, email, or any personal identifiers

• Your location or GPS data

• Your health or fitness data

• Your device identifiers

• Your usage patterns or behaviour

• Crash reports or diagnostic data

• Any information whatsoever

3. Data Stored on Your Device

Pulse Fit stores the following data locally on your device using Android's AsyncStorage:

• Profile information (name, age, weight, height, goals) — entered by you

• Workout history and exercise logs

• Nutrition and food logs

• Daily step counts

• Sleep logs

• Water intake logs

• Weight measurements

• App preferences and settings

This data is stored exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.

4. Permissions We Request

Pulse Fit may request the following device permissions:

ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION

Used to count steps via your device's pedometer sensor. Step data stays on your device.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Used to send local health reminders (e.g. drink water, time to work out). These are scheduled locally — no push notification server is used.

VIBRATE

Used for workout rest-timer feedback.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Used to reschedule local reminders after device restart. No data is transmitted.

We do not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other sensitive permissions.

5. Notifications

All notifications in Pulse Fit are local notifications scheduled directly on your device using Android's AlarmManager. They do not use any push notification service, FCM, APNs, or external server. Your notification preferences are stored only on your device.

6. Data Export & Backup

Pulse Fit provides a Data Export feature (Settings → Data & Backup) that creates a JSON file of your data. You control where this file goes — it may be saved to your device, emailed to yourself, or shared via any app of your choosing. We never receive or have access to this export file.

7. Children's Privacy

Pulse Fit is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app collects no data at all, there is no risk of inadvertent collection from any user.

8. Third-Party Services

Pulse Fit does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social media SDKs. The only external connections the app makes are:

• During development mode: connecting to the Metro bundler on your local network

• Never in production: the release build makes no external connections

9. Data Security

Your data is stored using your device's built-in secure storage. It is protected by your device's screen lock and encryption. We recommend using a strong screen lock PIN or biometric authentication to protect the data on your device.

10. Data Deletion

To delete all your Pulse Fit data:

• Within the app: Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Data

• On your device: Settings → Apps → Pulse Fit → Clear Data

• Uninstalling the app will also remove all associated data

Since all data is local, deletion is immediate and complete.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the changes will be reflected in the app with an updated "Last Updated" date. We will not make changes that reduce your privacy protections.

12. Open Source

Pulse Fit is built with React Native and uses only open-source libraries. You are welcome to inspect the source code to verify our privacy claims.
