Giulia Urso is Associate Professor of Economic Geography at the Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) in L’Aquila. She was visiting Professor at the Department of Geography of Ghent University in 2014. Since 2018 she is Co-Convenor of the Course “Economic Geography” and member of the Teaching Committee of the Doctoral Program “Urban Studies and Regional Science” of the GSSI.
She has been involved in several multidisciplinary research projects dealing with the place-sensitiveness of public policies, migration propensity of peripheral youth, migration-climate change nexus in inner areas, perception of inequality, and pro-environmental behaviours. Her main research interests revolve around local development, resilience and the main challenges of peripheral areas.
