Emanuela Rita Giuffrida

Emanuela Rita Giuffrida is a specialist in agricultural hydraulics and watershed management, focusing on environmental rehabilitation using nature-based solutions (NBS) through qualitative and quantitative participatory methodologies.

Her work incorporates green infrastructure to manage runoff and enhance the resilience of urban and fluvial environments. As a PhD student of the University of Catania, Emanuela’s project is based on an action-research approach aimed at exploring residents’ perception of NBS in fragile territories like the Inner Area of Simeto Valley in Italy, to promote community-driven sustainable development.
