Effective Date: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Puggy ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.
Financial Data. Puggy is a local-first app. All the financial information you enter — income, expenses, budgets, categories, and related records — is stored directly on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate a backend server for this data, and it is not synced to or stored on our servers.
Usage and Diagnostic Data. We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized usage data and crash reports. This helps us understand how the app is used and fix bugs. This data may include device type, OS version, app interactions, and crash logs, but does not include your financial records.
Subscription Information. If you purchase a subscription, purchase and entitlement data (such as subscription status and transaction identifiers) is processed by RevenueCat to manage your subscription. Payment details themselves are handled by Apple's App Store and are never seen or stored by us.
We do not collect your name or email address, and Puggy does not require you to create an account.
We use usage and diagnostic data to operate, maintain, and improve the app, including identifying bugs and enhancing features. Subscription data is used solely to validate and manage your purchase.
Financial Data. Your income, expense, and budget data stays on your device. We do not transmit it to our servers or to any third party.
Analytics & Crash Data. Shared with Firebase (Google) for the purposes described above.
Subscription Data. Shared with RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Financial data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete it within the app. If you delete the app, this data is removed along with it (unless you have an iCloud/device backup that includes it). Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to their standard retention policies. Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat for as long as needed to manage your subscription.
You can disable analytics collection in Firebase (if you expose a toggle in-app), and you can delete your financial data at any time by deleting entries within the app or uninstalling the app.
Puggy does not knowingly collect any personal data from children. Since the app does not require an account and stores financial data locally, it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through analytics or crash data, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Note: This is a template and not a substitute for review by a qualified attorney, especially regarding App Store, GDPR, and CCPA requirements. If you add cloud sync, account creation, or any AI-based processing (e.g. receipt scanning) to Puggy in the future, this policy will need to be updated to reflect those data flows.
