In 2013, CloudMosa introduced Puffin Academy, a free mobile browser with built-in Adobe Flash for K-12 students, teachers, and parents. However, the iOS version of Puffin Academy was discontinued on July 1, 2019.[17]

In June 2018, CloudMosa announced the release of a separate lightweight browser app for iOS devices called Puffin Browser Lite, given that Apple rejected Puffin Web Browser updates. This lightweight browser app is based on iOS WebKit and does not support Adobe Flash Player.[18]It was later announced that they would discontinue the original Puffin Web Browser apps on July 1, 2019, on all iOS devices because of the block on updates, citing Apple's app review guideline 2.5.6. The shutdown was later pushed back to October 1, 2019,[17] and the free version of the original browser app was finally discontinued on November 20, 2019. CloudMosa announced on Facebook that the paid version on iOS, Puffin Browser Pro, would remain available but no longer be updated.[24]

Puffin Web Browser is the standard Puffin Browser application for Android and formerly iOS. The Android Puffin web browser supports Adobe Flash content and features such as mouse cursor emulation and a virtual gamepad.[34] Users can choose where to save a downloaded file - either to users' devices or directly to their storage drive. The web browser also allows users to reduce the amount of data from sources such as Flash games that often consume a lot of data.[35]

Because web pages render through the remote browser in the cloud, user traffic is passed via the Puffin servers. Some users criticize that Puffin may log their personal data such as passwords. [citation needed] However, Puffin's privacy policy states that they log no web page content and that they do not have access to users' passwords, and are in compliance with GDPR and CCPA.[36]

Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.

Puffin is a cloud browser meaning that they proxy all traffic for the client to the Puffin servers via SSL. You should be able to create a custom App-ID using the hostname of the server cert cloudmosa.com.

Hey Guys.. Got a work around for this. Created a custom URL category and blocked *.cloudmosa.* (the servers in the cloud that puffin uses in the background). and then blocked *.puffinbrowser.*. Add the URL category to a rule and deny the traffic. Simple work around. Nevertheless, this app has been submitted to PAN. Hopefully we get to see it at some point of time.

I recently downloaded and purchased the puffin browser from the App Store as I'm a tv addict and it was recommended as it's good to use for watching things on. However, upon downloading it I discovered there was an issue with it. A window kept popping up saying "connect to server, portal error, network diagnostics". I then clicked into network diagnostics and went through 3 steps which basically told me everything was okay and to wait a moment and restart the browser again. Which I have done about a billion times and still, no solution. So basically I'm just wondering is there any suggestions or solutions to fix this? Thanks!

I Had this same problem too, all I did to fix it was to go to settings, scroll down on the side bar on the left, to Puffin, then click on that and turn on "Use HTTP tunnel" It worked for me and now my puffin is as good as new!

I have no idea, but I can say that Puffin is not a supported web browser for Canvas. On a mobile device you'll have the best luck using the Canvas Student or Canvas Teacher app. And if you need to access something that isn't working in those apps I'd suggest Chrome as a 2nd choice.

I wish to add it as add on or have as an option. Kind of on call.I really enjoy using Mozilla app but I also used puffin for quite some time. My alternative is to add privacy browser. Go to it. I like to have the whole bundle if that's possible. I don't know how the Puffin Developers will feel about it as to who is frontman you know. But it does support beta and windows now. Maybe a good thing.

puffin network problems i have problem when page is lagging but it recomnects and says send log (sometimes says send log) or playing flash games and gets massive lag network (wifi gets low, forcing wifi turn off and turn on again) because game designer developer adds many features and gets wifi slow PLS FIX EVERYONE!!!

Emmm.I am not sure what do you mean.

But if you mean that the puffin game designer deveopmer adds many features to make it slow, you can try to clear browser cache first. lf it isn't work, you can uninstall the latest Puffin and reinstall the old one back.

If you're saying that your game developer has added a lot of features that make it slow to open with Puffin, I'd recommend switching to a browser instead. Because Puffin didn't do a good job on speed, it could also be an incompatibility problem.

I am a game addictor too and i am using Private Browser now.The interface is simpler and it loads and opens very quickly. If you don't mind, you can try it.

Puffin Browser Pro is a browser for Android devices that, although it doesn't offer a large number of features and doesn't have a great design, nevertheless provides you with a decent way to browse the Internet. Basically, it only offers features that can usually be found on the most common browsers, although it also offers browsing in any of the official languages of India.

As is the standard for any modern browser, Puffin Browser Pro offers tabs for browsing and a bookmark management system. When you first open Puffin Browser Pro, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms are already bookmarked, although you can change this according to your needs. With the bookmarks bar at the top of the screen and the search engine at the bottom, you can use this app with total convenience. As usual, it uses Google for its search engine.

Puffin Browser Pro is not a particularly remarkable browser; even though it offers all the features you need to navigate the Internet comfortably from your Android, it doesn't have the prettiest interface in the world. However, it does offer a good alternative to other browsers with a wide range of languages to choose from.

The parseUri function is often used by Android browsers, or Android applications with WebView components, in order to support the intent URI scheme. This functionality allows a webpage to send an intent to another activity on the mobile device (deep linking). The Chrome documentation provides the following example. When the user clicks on the link then an intent will be sent from the Chrome browser to an activity within the Zxing application.

Older versions of the Chrome browser contained the following code, which attempted to limit invocation of only activities with the proper category filter. Also note that the component attribute is set to null to prevent the use of an explicit intent.

In order to support the intent URI scheme, the Puffin Browser executes the Intent.parseUri function with untrusted data as shown in the following code from the com.cloudmosa.puffinFree.LemonActivity. Note the code attempts to limit invocation of only activities with the proper category filter, but does not prevent the use of the selector intent. Applications typically implement this type of functionality within their implementation of the WebViewClient class.

Given the lack of selector intent filtering, we now know that a malicious page loaded into the Puffin browser can send an intent to any exported activity on the device, or any activity within the Puffin browser regardless of whether or not its exported. For the latter, based on reviewing the AndroidManifest.xml file, the following activities within the browser are potential targets.

The previous exploit works partly because the targetSdkVersion of the Puffin browser is set to 14, which means that the security mitigations put into place in Android 4.2 (API level 17) to prevent generic JavaScript interface exploitation will not work even on a 4.4.3 device. On 4.4.4 devices and 5.x devices, access via reflection to the java.lang.Object.getClass method is blocked from any JavaScript bridge, so we have to figure out a different way of exploiting the improper intent scheme parsing. 0852c4b9a8
