Tha Dogg Pound Tha Unreleased Collection

Tha Dogg Pound, also known as DPG, is a rap duo consisting of Daz Dillinger and Kurupt. They were part of the Death Row Records roster in the early 1990s, along with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Tupac Shakur. They are known for their gangsta rap style and their affiliation with the Crips street gang.

Tha Dogg Pound has released several albums and compilations over the years, but some of their songs have remained unreleased or hard to find. In 2003, a Japanese label called Octave released a CD titled DPG: The Unreleased Collection, which featured 18 tracks by Tha Dogg Pound and their associates, such as Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Crooked I, Warren G, Kokane, Soopafly, Bad Azz, Goldie Loc, and Tray Dee . The CD included songs that were recorded between 1996 and 2003, some of which were intended for albums that were never released or shelved by Death Row Records.

Some of the highlights of the CD are:

Whatever: A smooth track by Snoop Dogg that samples Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On".

I Need A Bitch: A classic Nate Dogg song that was later released on his album Music and Me. The song features his signature crooning and explicit lyrics.

Family Reunion: A posse cut by Snoop Dogg, Daz, Warren G, Bad Azz, and Soopafly that showcases their chemistry and loyalty.

Fly Girls: A funky track by Snoop Dogg that pays homage to the female rappers of the 1980s, such as Salt-N-Pepa, MC Lyte, and Roxanne Shante.

Crookz N Doggz: A hard-hitting collaboration between Crooked I and Snoop Dogg that displays their lyrical skills and gangsta mentality.

In 2012, another compilation titled Doggy Bag was released by Tha Dogg Pound, which contained some of the same songs as the Japanese CD, as well as some new ones. The compilation was intended to be a prelude to their album Doggumentary II, which was never released.

Tha Dogg Pound Tha Unreleased Collection is a rare and valuable item for any fan of West Coast hip hop and G-funk. It showcases the talent and versatility of Tha Dogg Pound and their crew, as well as their contribution to the rap game.
