In the middle of May 2019, am email was sent to one of our illustrious painters - Stuzib85.
Did he want to create a custom livery for a project with Ford, later in the year?
Of course he did. But the realisation that 'later in the year' could have meant Christmas, took a little bit of a shine off. When might this project begin?
His worry was needless, as a week later, the details started coming in - Firstly, that a livery was needed for launching their new Ranger Raptor, and then later, the news that it would be for the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
3 weeks of designing and feedback later, the livery was done, complete with a PTG logo, but the final product remained unseen.
Even upon arrival at FOS, Stuzi's first time there, it was a challenge to find it. First the three-story Ford Stand was searched, finding only a Raptor with an FH4 logo on it..... Upon asking a member of Fords staff, they said it would be by the drift paddock. It was not.
It wasn't until Stuzi and his family were driven up to the Off Road stage, halfway up the Goodwood hill, that the liveried Raptor came into view for the first time!
30 mins later, Stuzi was being driven around the Off Road course, in a Raptor (livery) he had designed, by Paul Swift, a Stunt driver who works for Ford (and who had also driven Stuzi's first Xbox designed IRL livery - the Ford Focus RS in 2015).
