Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) Form K
The aim of the DAT-K is to assess and provide information on your relatively strong and weak aptitudes and indicate also how these compare with those of a comparable group - on the basis of which certain deductions can be made. The different DAT-K subtests included the following:
Test 1: Vocabulary measures
your verbal comprehension, which can be defined as the knowledge of words and their meaning, as well as the application of this knowledge in spoken and written language.
Test 2: Verbal Reasoning measures
your general reasoning on the basis of verbal material.
Test 3: Non-verbal Reasoning measures
an aspect of your general reasoning and problem-solving ability on the basis of non-verbal material.
Test 4: Computations measures
your arithmetical ability.
Test 5: Reading Comprehension measures your ability to comprehend what you are reading, giving an indication of your
general language ability.
Test 6: Comparison measures your visual perceptual speed as an aspect of clerical ability, which consists mainly of the quick and accurate perception of differences and similarities between visual configurations.
Test 7: Spatial Visualization (3D) measures your three-dimensional spatial perceptual ability.
Test 8: Mechanical Insight measures your mechanical ability (insight).
Test 9: Memory measures an aspect of your memory factor by using meaningful material.
