From January 7 to 10, 2025, PSE Lab students Sofía León Velázquez, Mariana Silva Contreras, and Melissa García Hernández participated in the Life Cycle Assessment Applied to Process Engineering course, organized by the SPARTANS research group and the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering at Universidad de Guanajuato. This event, held in a hybrid format, allowed students to engage in both in-person and virtual sessions focused on the practical applications of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in industrial and research settings.
The course covered key topics such as LCA methodology, environmental impact assessment, and sustainability metrics, providing attendees with essential tools for evaluating the environmental performance of chemical and industrial processes. Participants gained hands-on experience with LCA software and methodologies, enhancing their ability to integrate sustainability considerations into process systems engineering.
At PSE Lab, we actively participate in national and international academic initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to advancing knowledge in Sustainable Process Systems Engineering. Engaging in courses like this allows our students to collaborate with experts, expand their technical expertise, and contribute to the global dialogue on sustainability and innovation in chemical and process engineering.
