PSE Lab member Marintia Sophia Barraza Leyva participated in the 4th International Colloquium on Chemical-Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Food Sciences, and the XXVII Research Forum, held on May 18 to 22, 2026, at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua.
Marintia presented her research poster titled "Development of Optimization Tools for Matching Industrial Streams with CO₂ Capture Systems through Process Simulation", contributing to ongoing efforts in the lab to address climate change through process engineering.
Her work focuses on analyzing the integration of CO₂ capture technologies tailored to the specific emission characteristics of industrial sources. Her project proposes the use of process simulation and metaheuristic optimization, leveraging tools such as Aspen Plus, to identify the best alternative under cost, environmental impact, and technical constraint criteria.
The PSE Lab congratulates Marintia on her participation and continued contributions to sustainable process engineering research.
