What is Music Therapy?
Music therapy is a type of therapy that can be used for people with ASD that involves a systematic process of intervention wherein the therapist helps the client to promote health, using musical experiences and the relationships that develop through them as dynamic forces of change. Music Therapy is an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. It provides avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words. Music therapy can either be an individual or group practice. Parents and other family members can also be involved with the therapy.
