PROXIMITY LIVE PRIVACY POLICY

Proximity Live (“Proximity,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Proximity Live collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have regarding your information.
By using Proximity Live, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. AGE REQUIREMENT
Proximity Live is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Proximity Live.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Depending on how you use Proximity Live, we may collect:
• Account information, such as your name, email address, username, profile photo, and account identifier.
• Profile information you choose to provide, such as interests, achievements, or other profile details.
• Location information when you grant Proximity permission to access your device's location.
• Information related to your interactions with other users, including friend requests, connections, and messages.
• Information related to events, check-ins, and other features you choose to use.
• Device and technical information necessary to operate the app, maintain security, send notifications, and diagnose technical problems.
We collect information directly from you, from your device when you grant the necessary permissions, and through your use of Proximity Live.
3. LOCATION DATA
Proximity Live uses location information to provide proximity-based features, such as helping you discover people and activity near you.
Granting Proximity Live access to your device's location does NOT automatically make your location visible to other users on the public map.
To appear on the Proximity Live map, you must manually choose to check in and explicitly confirm that you want to appear on the map.
Map check-ins are temporary. Proximity Live does not automatically check you in, automatically renew a map check-in, or automatically make your location publicly visible.
You may choose not to check in and can continue using features of Proximity Live that do not require public map visibility.
You can also control Proximity Live's access to your device location through the privacy settings on your device.
4. MAP VISIBILITY AND CONSENT
Your location is displayed to other Proximity Live users on the map only after you manually initiate a check-in and consent to appearing on the map.
A standard device location permission and a public Proximity Live map check-in are separate actions.
Giving Proximity Live permission to access your device location does not, by itself, give Proximity Live permission to publicly display you on the map.
Proximity Live does not automatically check users in.
5. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We may use information collected through Proximity Live to:
• Create and maintain your account.
• Provide proximity-based features.
• Show nearby users when appropriate.
• Provide manually initiated map check-ins.
• Allow users to connect and communicate.
• Display your profile to other users as part of the app's social features.
• Provide events and other community features.
• Send app notifications.
• Maintain the security and integrity of Proximity Live.
• Prevent abuse, spam, fraud, or misuse.
• Improve and maintain the app.
• Respond to support requests.
We do not use a user's device location to automatically make that user publicly visible on the Proximity Live map.
6. BLOCKING AND USER SAFETY
Proximity Live provides tools that allow users to block other users.
When you block another user, Proximity Live may use information about the block to prevent or limit interactions and visibility between the accounts.
Blocking information may be stored as necessary to enforce the block and protect users.
Users should use the available blocking features if they do not want to interact with another Proximity Live user.
7. SHARING OF INFORMATION
Information you choose to make part of your Proximity Live profile may be visible to other Proximity Live users.
If you manually check in to the map, your check-in location may be visible to other users for the duration of that check-in.
We may use third-party service providers to operate features of Proximity Live, including services for authentication, database storage, notifications, subscriptions, hosting, and other technical infrastructure.
We only share information with service providers as necessary to provide and operate Proximity Live. Third-party service providers that process user data on our behalf are expected to provide protections for user data consistent with applicable privacy requirements.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or users, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to address security concerns.
Proximity Live does not sell your precise location information to data brokers.
8. LOCATION PERMISSIONS
Proximity Live requests location permission when location is needed for proximity-based functionality.
You can deny or revoke location permission through your device settings.
Declining public map check-in consent means you will not be displayed on the public map.
Disabling location permission may limit features that depend on knowing your approximate or precise location, but it does not automatically delete your Proximity Live account.
9. NOTIFICATIONS
Proximity Live may send notifications related to features such as connections, nearby activity, messages, events, or other app activity.
You can control notification permissions through your device settings.
10. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Proximity Live, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Temporary information, such as public map check-ins, may be removed or expire after the feature is no longer active.
Some information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement purposes.
11. ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION
You may request deletion of your Proximity Live account and associated personal information.
Where account deletion is available within the app, you may initiate deletion using that feature.
When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with the account unless we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate purposes.
You may also contact us using the contact information below regarding a privacy or deletion request.
12. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES
You may:
• Decline location permission.
• Change location permission through your device settings.
• Decline to check in to the public map.
• Stop using location-dependent features.
• Control notification permissions.
• Block other users.
• Edit certain profile information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Revoking device location permission prevents Proximity Live from receiving new device location information through that permission while it remains disabled.
13. SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information handled by Proximity Live.
However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Proximity Live may rely on third-party services to provide app functionality, such as authentication, cloud database services, notifications, subscriptions, analytics, or other infrastructure.
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to Proximity Live and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.
15. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as Proximity Live changes.
When we make changes, we may update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy.
Continued use of Proximity Live after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply to your continued use of the service.
