Provo YSA 263 Ward Mission Plan for 2026
Theme: Welcome to the Church of Joy (in Christ)
Our focus:
Helping everyone feel welcome in ward meetings and activities.
Learn the names of ward members
Look for individuals who are sitting alone in church and offer to sit with them.
Helping members experience the joy of sharing the gospel.
In order to help others experience the joy of sharing the gospel, focus on first staying close to Jesus Christ by preparing intentionally to partake of the sacrament each week. Keep sacrament meetings and lessons focused on Jesus Christ, for “in [His] presence is fullness of joy,” (Psalm 16:11).
Focus on inviting individuals that are less active, not yet known on ward records or not yet members to sacrament meeting and ward activities each month. This list of individuals will be provided to ward missionaries and interested ward members. We will reach out to at least 5 individuals per week.
Bishopric members will encourage those giving a sacrament meeting talk to invite an individual who is not yet a member or less active to listen to them speak. We will likewise encourage those singing in special musical numbers or giving a gospel lesson in the second hour to think of an individual that is not yet a member or less active to come listen. Ward missionaries will follow up with invitations given and number of individuals that attended each Sunday that were less active or investigators and report during ward missionary huddle.
Baptism Goal for 2026: 2
Supporting people being taught by the missionaries.
Ward missionaries: Text the full-time missionaries your availability during the week after being called. Join for visits at least quarterly.
Ward missionaries: Gather for weekly ward “huddles” before sacrament meeting to update one another on missionary work in the ward.
Send missionaries your availability beforehand and do group visits. Members invite to come to church with us and volleyball.
Use the full name of the church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Helping new and returning members progress spiritually.
Ministering is key to helping new members stay nourished spiritually and temporally
Give appropriate assignments and callings to new and returning members. For example, invite less active members to say the prayer in the second hour.
Finding and Baptisms: Our ward will prayerfully seek to identify and teach one to two individuals each quarter who are prepared to progress toward baptism. Our annual goal is to support and witness two baptisms within the ward. Ward missionaries will actively fellowship those who are being taught, share sincere testimonies of the restored gospel, and work in close coordination with full-time missionaries to support each individual’s progression. Ward missionaries will strive to be available in every appropriate capacity to strengthen, encourage, and assist in furthering the work of the Lord within the 263rd Ward.
