Privacy Policy for Proofsmith

This policy describes how Proofsmith ("the app") handles information. In short: it doesn't collect any.
Information we do not collect
Proofsmith does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There is no account system, no sign-in, no name, email, or identifier of any kind requested or gathered. The app does not use analytics, does not include advertising, and does not contain any third-party tracking software development kits (SDKs).
How grading works
Every proof you write is graded entirely on your device, including the on-device machine learning model used as a secondary check. Nothing you type into the app — proof text, hints used, or anything else — ever leaves your device or is sent to us or to any third party.
Information stored on your device
Your progress (which levels you've solved, your star counts, and answers you're still drafting) is stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard local app storage. This data:
Is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Is only accessible to the Proofsmith app on your device.
Is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
May be included in Android's own device backup system (Android Auto Backup), if you have that enabled on your device. That backup goes to your own Google Account's storage, controlled by you through your device and Google Account settings — we have no access to it.
In-app purchases
Proofsmith offers optional in-app purchases ("Unlock all levels" and "Unlock all hints"), processed entirely through Google Play's billing system. We do not receive, see, or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) — that information is handled directly between you and Google, under Google Play's own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation of whether a purchase was completed, which is stored locally on your device the same way as your progress data, so the app knows what you've unlocked.
Third-party services
The only third-party service Proofsmith interacts with is Google Play Billing, used solely to process the optional purchases described above. Proofsmith makes no other network requests of any kind.
Children's privacy
Proofsmith does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all. The app is suitable for a general audience.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
