Prompt Vault Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 4, 2026
Prompt Vault ("the app") is developed and maintained by Latchkey Apps. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Summary
Prompt Vault does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you create in the app — prompts, tags, folders, categories, settings — is stored only in a local database on your own device. The app has no internet permission, makes no network requests, contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, and has no user accounts.
What data the app stores
The app stores the following locally on your device only, never transmitted anywhere:
The prompts, titles, tags, folders, and categories you create Your app preferences (theme, dynamic color setting, font size)
This data is stored in a private, app-scoped database and preferences store that only Prompt Vault itself can access. It is not accessible to other apps, and it is not synced to any cloud service by the app itself.
What data the app does not collect
The app does not collect, and has no technical means to collect:
Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers Location data Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics identifiers Usage analytics or crash reports sent to any external service Any of the prompt content you create
Third parties
The app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-processing services. No data is shared with any third party, because no data leaves your device.
Backups and data export
The app includes an optional, user-initiated Export Backup feature (Settings → Data) that saves your prompts to a JSON file you choose where to store, using Android's standard file picker. This file is created only when you explicitly choose to export it, is written only to the location you select, and is never transmitted anywhere by the app. You are responsible for the security of any backup file you create and choose to store or share.
Note: this app's data is intentionally excluded from Android's automatic device backup (to avoid known database-corruption issues with automatic backup of local databases). Use the in-app Export Backup feature if you want a durable copy of your data.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children, because it collects no personal data from any user. The app is not specifically directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in the future (for example, if a feature is added that changes how data is handled), this page will be updated and the effective date above will reflect the change.
