Your data in ProJodder
In force since 28 September 2026
What happens to a shoreline count once you have tapped it into ProJodder? In almost every case, nothing at all beyond your own phone. This page explains the one exception and everything else we do and do not do.
Only a letter draft ever leaves the phone, and only when you ask for it
Would you like help writing to a council, a beach operator, a marina or a school? The Letter desk can draft that letter with OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini model. When you tap to draft, we send the recipient type, the requests you picked, the name you gave the stretch and its survey figures (number of surveys, items per 100 metres, the leading sources and most common litter types) to OpenAI so the model can write the text. Before the first draft, the app shows you exactly which figures will be sent and waits for you to agree. No name, email, location or device identifier is part of that request. OpenAI's own handling of such requests is described at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. You can switch AI letters off in Settings; the app then writes the letter itself from a built-in template and makes no network request at all.
Your stretches and surveys stay on this device
Stretches, surveys, section counts, hazard notes, pledges, saved letters and settings are kept in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad. We have no server that receives a copy, and there is no sync to anyone else's account. Export in Settings creates a file only when you choose to share it.
We collect nothing about you
Is there an account to create? No. Is there analytics, advertising, tracking or a third-party SDK watching how you use the app? No. The app does not ask for your location, contacts, photos or camera.
Reminders are scheduled by your phone
If you turn on revisit reminders, the app schedules local notifications on the device for the day a stretch is due again. They are not sent through any server, and turning reminders off removes them.
Deleting is in your hands
Want everything gone? Use "Wipe everything" in Settings, or delete the app. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing left for us to erase and nothing to request from us.
The app is not made for children under 13
ProJodder is meant for adults and teenagers who survey shorelines, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Children who join a beach clean should do so with an adult who runs the app.
This page may change
If the app changes how it handles data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will move with it.
