A key initiative of Project Open Hopes is the publication of our journal. The journal serves as an emotional outlet for childhood cancer patients to help them navigate their situation while staying positive.
Journaling can help the beneficiaries to think more sensibly, and helps them to reflect as they go. Studies have also shown that writing in a journal can lead to better sleep, a stronger immune system, more self-confidence, and higher IQ.
A space for the beneficiaries to jot down things about themselves, such as their interests, hobbies and talents.
A 365-day table for them to record the main mood they are experiencing every day using colours. This will help them to see their emotional growth throughout the year.
This will guide them in keeping track of certain habits that they would like to adopt or quit each month. This will help them to cultivate good habits and self-improvement.
Inspirational quotes, as well as writing prompts will be given to guide them along the journaling process.
This provides a space for them to paste photos and create collages, so that they can look back and see how far they have come.
Some side activities for them to do so as to relieve stress and cope with their emotions.
