Student at CSUF!

I've been working on a project that focuses on meiotic drive and selfish genes in male fruit fly species (Drosophila pseudoobscura), which distort the sex ratio in offspring. I’ve been performing a lot of RNA-seq and differential gene expression analysis across multiple Y chromosome sizes to identify overlapping genes and trying to understand how they contribute to this driving mechanism. 

Overall, my goal is to identify specific genes that are responsible for the sex ratio distortion and how it influences the genetic conflict and inheritance patterns in the fruit fly species.
