I am a 4th year student with a major in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, with a minor in Chemistry. Working with Professor Priya Moorjani and Sophie Joseph, I am studying population genetics and evolutionary biology. 

I am a huge homebody, so in my free time I like to listen to music and crochet little projects like keychains and stuffed animals! 

I am currently analyzing the demographic history of East Asians and their high retention of Neanderthal DNA compared to other ethnic groups. I am also testing the "Recent Demography" theory, in which evolutionary processes, such as selection and genetic draft, may be the reason why East Asians retained the most Neanderthal DNA. 

The research will further develop into population history and how it affects the frequency and amount of archaic ancestry across the genome of ethnic groups using msprime on VS Code.
