Hey! I’m Natalie, a mathematics major with a concentration in statistics. I have a love for data science and problem solving. I enjoy taking messy data and finding patterns that make it tell a story. 

Outside of school, I’m usually playing games like Minecraft, which perfectly blends creativity and optimization. It lets me build whatever I imagine while also figuring out the smartest ways to gather resources and automate tasks.

I’m using an evolutionary simulation called SLiM to explore how moving plant genotypes between populations might help them handle climate change. I’m especially curious about selfing vs. outcrossing species and how traits like flowering time can affect survival, inspired by California’s wildfires and long droughts. 

Basically, I’m running virtual experiments to see if we can give plants a better chance at adapting.
