Compare & Share: Forests
Compare & Share: Forests
As a shared project outcome, students introduced a forest from their own country and shared information about its unique features. Partner students then compared these forests through comments and discussions, identifying similarities and differences. Together, these contributions formed a meaningful common product that reflects international collaboration, cultural exchange, and shared learning.
Green Wall
Through our Green Wall activity, we wanted to raise awareness about protecting forests and creating a greener future. We shared our promises and messages about nature to encourage people to take small steps for a cleaner and more sustainable world. During this activity, we learned that everyone can help protect the environment with simple actions in daily life.
As students from Türkiye and Spain, we worked together in an eTwinning project to learn more about nature and protect the environment by introducing the forests in our local areas. During this project, we visited nearby forests, observed nature, took photographs, and learned about the living creatures around us. We introduced İnceğiz Forest in Türkiye and natural areas in Spain so we could share our environments with our friends.
Throughout the activity, we learned the importance of keeping the environment clean, recycling waste, and protecting animals and plants. We understood that forests are very valuable for all living things and for our future. By working together with friends from different cultures, we also improved our English communication skills and developed a stronger sense of responsibility for protecting nature and the environment.
Through international collaboration, students worked in pairs to create podcasts on interconnected topics related to forests. Through discussions and shared ideas, they explored the importance of forests, the challenges they face, and possible solutions for a more sustainable future.
The podcast series covered the following topics in no particular order:
• What Is a Forest and Why Is It Part of Our Lives?
• Benefits of Forests for the Earth and People
• How Do Forests Protect Water and Soil?
• Forests Are the Home of Living Things
• Causes of Deforestation
• Global Warming and the Future of Forests
• What Can We Do to Save the Future?
Together, all podcast episodes formed a meaningful and well-connected awareness series that reflects teamwork, creativity, and international cooperation.
As a collaborative project product, students created an acrostic song using the initials of our project title "Protect Our Forests, Protect Our Future". Each team contributed lyrics, and together we produced a creative song that reflects our shared commitment to protecting forests and building a sustainable future.
