Mantis wields a powerful sword which grants him the ability to control the elements of our universe. On his home planet of Scion, Alex and his best friend Martin were exploring a cave when he came across the ancient sword of the Mantis. Alex picked up the sword and became "The Mantis". Mantis could not control his abilities at the time, and accidentally created "Galactic Fog". This fog swallowed his planet and he went into hiding before escaping to Axiom. In the Exodus mission, Mantis destroyed the corrupt heart on Omega, restoring the planet to its former glory. He then took Omega's core to stabilize the Nexus Rift.
