If you want durable, wireless safety earmuffs with long battery life for cycling or outdoor work, choose PROHEAR 033; if you need studio-grade, wired in-ear monitors with extreme detail and bass response for critical listening, choose Hidizs MP145. These two devices occupy completely different worlds: one is a rugged tool designed to protect your hearing while letting you hear the world around you safely, and the other is a high-fidelity audio instrument built to deliver an immersive, reference-quality soundstage that demands silence. I have analyzed the specifications and design intent of both to help you decide which fits your specific needs, especially when considering how they perform during active use like cycling.
• PROHEAR 033: Strengths include its 1500mAh rechargeable battery offering up to 30 hours of playtime, Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, and industrial-grade noise reduction (SNR 31dB) making it ideal for noisy environments. Trade-off is its reliance on passive protection rather than deep audiophile fidelity. This pick is for cyclists who need safety gear that doubles as entertainment.
• Hidizs MP145: Strengths feature a planar magnetic driver with 20Hz-40kHz frequency response, zero phase shift, and 9 customizable sound modes via pneumatic filters for precise tuning. Trade-off is its strictly wired nature and lack of ambient awareness, requiring total isolation from the outside world. This pick is for the cyclist or commuter who prioritizes pure music quality over situational awareness.
The PROHEAR 033 is engineered as a hybrid between industrial safety equipment and consumer electronics, specifically targeting users who operate in loud environments but refuse to disconnect from their favorite content. Its core strength lies in the combination of hearing protection and wireless convenience. With an SNR of 31dB and NRR of 25dB, this device is designed to isolate dangerous noise levels while allowing safe passage of conversation and ambient sounds through advanced electronic processing. For a cyclist navigating busy streets or working near lawn mowers and landscaping equipment, this level of protection is non-negotiable, yet the ability to switch to Bluetooth 5.4 mode instantly transforms the earmuffs into a personal stereo.

The battery life is a standout feature that makes this product uniquely suited for long days in the field. The included 1500mAh rechargeable lithium battery supports up to 30 hours of non-stop playtime in Bluetooth mode. This means you can ride all day, work a full shift, or even travel without the anxiety of running out of power mid-activity. The charging system is versatile, accepting standard 5V chargers or direct connection to a computer USB port. Combined with the ultra-lightweight ABS shell and soft padded headband, the physical comfort is optimized for extended wear, addressing the common complaint of heavy, clunky safety gear digging into the temples after hours.
This product is best for individuals who prioritize safety and durability above all else. If you are looking for extra bass wireless headphones for cycling that also serve as legitimate ear protection, the PROHEAR 033 delivers on that front without compromising on the protective rating. However, it is not the right choice for someone seeking high-resolution audio fidelity where every nuance of a recording must be heard with clinical precision. The sound profile is tuned for clarity and volume control in noisy settings, not for critical listening in a quiet room. You should skip this if you require a wired connection for zero-latency gaming or if you prefer in-ear isolation that completely blocks out the wind and traffic noise.
In stark contrast to the PROHEAR 033, the Hidizs MP145 is a precision-engineered in-ear monitor built for audiophiles who demand absolute sonic accuracy. This device utilizes a custom fast 14.5 mm planar driver coupled with a patented 14x N52H magnet array, generating approximately 1 Tesla of flux density to achieve distortion levels as low as 0.05%. The result is a soundstage that renders micro-details with terrifying realism, capturing everything from the friction of bow hair on strings to the subtle decay of orchestral notes. For a listener who treats their commute as a concert hall experience, the MP145 offers a level of immersion that wireless safety gear simply cannot replicate.
The versatility of the MP145 lies in its innovative acoustic architecture. It features three pneumatic tuning filters that unlock nine different sound styles, allowing the user to tailor the frequency response to match their preference or the genre of music being played. Whether you crave deep sub-bass tremors at 5Hz or crystal-clear vocals with holographic venue ambience, the device adapts without needing digital signal processing correction. The housing is crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum using 12-layer CNC milling, inspired by whale biology to channel airflow and eliminate resonance. This design ensures a secure fit and passive noise cancellation that isolates the listener from the outside world, creating a private sanctuary of sound.
This product is ideal for those who value audio quality above convenience features like wireless connectivity or battery life. If you are searching for the best in-ear headphones for cycling and your priority is the purity of the music rather than hearing passing cars, the MP145 is a formidable contender. The high sensitivity of 104dB and low impedance of 30 ohms mean it drives effortlessly from phones or portable DACs, delivering rich, deep lows with natural warmth. However, because it is a strictly wired device with no battery, it requires constant management of the OFC cable and a compatible jack. You should avoid this if you need to hear traffic, construction, or emergency sirens while moving, as the passive noise cancellation and in-ear seal will block out all external auditory cues.
• Best for battery life and freedom of movement → PROHEAR 033: With a 30-hour battery and Bluetooth 5.4, there are no cables to tangle or worry about dying during a long ride.
• Best for audio fidelity and detail retrieval → Hidizs MP145: The planar magnetic driver and 20Hz-40kHz range offer a depth of sound that wireless safety earmuffs cannot physically reproduce.
• Best for safety and situational awareness → PROHEAR 033: The electronic hearing protection allows you to stay alert to your environment while still enjoying audio content.
• Best for customization of sound signature → Hidizs MP145: The three pneumatic filters provide nine distinct tuning options, giving you granular control over the bass, mids, and treble.
• Best for durability in harsh conditions → PROHEAR 033: Built with a durable ABS shell and anti-sweat cushions, it withstands sweat, rain, and physical impacts better than delicate in-ear monitors.
• Best for critical listening and studio monitoring → Hidizs MP145: The ±0.5dB alignment to the H-2019 curve makes it a reference tool for discerning ears.
• Best for multi-tasking (work + music) → PROHEAR 033: The integrated AM/FM radio and AUX input allow for immediate station scanning or connecting to any device without pairing.
• Best for ultimate isolation and bass impact → Hidizs MP145: The ergonomic liquid silicone tips and aluminum housing create a seal that enhances bass performance and blocks external noise effectively.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would buy the PROHEAR 033 if my primary goal was cycling. While the Hidizs MP145 offers superior sound quality, it is fundamentally unsafe for outdoor riding due to its lack of ambient awareness and wired limitations. The PROHEAR 033 strikes the perfect balance for this activity by providing genuine hearing protection against wind and traffic noise while delivering reliable wireless audio. In my opinion, safety and practicality must come first for anyone moving on public roads, making the PROHEAR 033 the clear winner for this specific application. If you were sitting in a quiet home studio, I might lean toward the Hidizs, but for the road, the PROHEAR is the only logical choice.
The PROHEAR 033 is explicitly designed for cycling and outdoor work, offering hearing protection and wireless convenience. The Hidizs MP145 is not recommended for cycling as it blocks out all external noise and is wired, which creates safety hazards.
No, the MP145 has high sensitivity (104dB) and low impedance (30 ohms), meaning it can be driven directly by smartphones or portable DACs without needing a dedicated external amplifier.
The PROHEAR 033 features a 1500mAh battery providing up to 30 hours of playtime, whereas the Hidizs MP145 has no battery since it is a fully wired passive device that draws power from the audio source.
Yes, the MP145 comes with various liquid silicone ear tips (voice, balanced, bass) to customize the fit and sound, though replacement tips are sold separately by the manufacturer.
