Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Progressa ("the App") is developed by HazDPad. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights.
2. Data Collection
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- A display name, if you set one (there are no accounts and no passwords - see section 4)
- Habit tracking data (habits, daily entries, streaks)
- Financial data (income, expenses, subscriptions)
- Notes, tasks and shopping lists, along with any photos you attach to them
- Calendar events, day memories, mood entries and meal plans
- Household members and shared chores, if you use them
- Achievement progress and gamification scores
- Life Balance self-assessment scores
- App preferences (language, theme, notification settings)
3. Data Storage and Network Use
Everything you enter in the App is stored locally on your device. The App has no server of its own and no user account. It does NOT:
- Send your habits, entries, finances, notes, tasks, shopping lists, calendar events, memories, mood entries or meal plans anywhere
- Use cloud storage or a sync service of its own
- Sell or share your data with third parties
- Collect analytics or usage statistics of its own
- Use advertising SDKs
- Track your location
Text recognition ("Scan label") runs entirely on your device. The photo you scan and the text recognised from it are processed by a model bundled inside the App. Neither the photo nor the recognised text is uploaded anywhere, and scanning works with no network connection.
Two Google libraries used by the App do send diagnostics to Google. The App uses Google ML Kit for the on-device text recogniser, and Google Play Billing for in-app purchases. These are Google's libraries, not services of ours, and each reports its own usage diagnostics to Google independently of anything the App sends. Those reports contain none of your content. They identify the app package and version, the library version, your device model and system build, the system language, timezone, network type and mobile-carrier code, and a pseudonymous installation identifier that is not linked to your name or to any account. This behaviour is built into the Google libraries and cannot be turned off from within the App; it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Android's own backup can copy the App's data off the device. The App permits Android Auto Backup, so if Google backup is enabled in your device settings, Android may copy the App's database and preferences to your Google account so that your data survives a reinstall or a change of phone. This is done by Android, not by the App, and you can disable it in your device's Google backup settings. Your app-lock PIN and its recovery answer are deliberately excluded from these backups.
4. App Lock (PIN)
The App has no accounts, no usernames and no passwords: it is used by a single local profile on your device. You may optionally lock the App with a 4-6 digit PIN. The PIN is never stored in plain text - only a bcrypt hash of the PIN and a SHA-256 hash of your recovery answer are kept, in Android's encrypted preference storage (AES-256-GCM, with the key held in the device's Keystore). Neither the PIN nor the recovery answer ever leaves your device, and both are deliberately excluded from device backups.
5. Data Backup
You can export your data as a JSON file using the Backup feature in Settings. This file is saved to your device's Downloads folder. You are responsible for the security of exported backup files.
6. Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time by:
- Using "Reset Data" in Profile settings (deletes all app data)
- Uninstalling the App (removes all data permanently)
7. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Everything you enter stays on your device; the only information that leaves it on its own is the Google library diagnostics described in section 3, which contain none of your content. The Android backup copies described in section 3, and any backup file you export (section 5), leave your device only if you enable or create them.
8. Permissions
The App may request these permissions:
- Notifications: For daily habit reminders and progress updates
- Storage: For exporting backup files and CSV data
- Boot completed: To reschedule notification alarms after device restart
- Biometrics: To unlock Finance with your fingerprint, if you enable it
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be accessible within the App.
