I am working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, Vidyasagar University, since August 2016. Before joining the university, I worked as a research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University. My research focused on one of the significant issues of air pollution in northwest India: crop residue burning. I have started my research career with the mapping and modelling of emissions from fire pixels. This has led me to a platform of the interaction of biomass burning aerosols on the surface temperature and precipitation, where I am working now. Spatial mapping and modelling using the state-of-the-art programming language was one of my favourite parts of my own research domain. For the next couple of years, I am planning to get some expertise on regional climate modelling as it facilitates examining the evolution of precipitation and temperature fields with changing emission scenarios due to anthropogenic activity.
