I am working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, Vidyasagar University, since August 2016. Before joining the university, I worked as a research fellow at the centre for the study of regional development, Jawaharlal Nehru University. My research focused on one of the significant issues of air pollution in northwest India; crop residue burning. I have started my research career with the mapping and modelling of emissions from fire pixels. This has led me to a platform of the interaction of biomass burning aerosols on the surface temperature and precipitation where I am working now. Spatial mapping and modelling using the state of the art programming language was one of my favourite parts of my own research domain. For the next couple of years, I am planning to get some expertise on regional climate modelling as it facilitates to examining the evolution of precipitation and temperature fields with changing emission scenarios due to anthropogenic activity.
