Who am I?
I was educated in England, where I completed my Ph.D. at the London School of Economics. In 2019, Örebro University, Sweden, conferred upon me an honorary doctorate. However, my formative years were spent at St. John's High School, an Irish Catholic Brothers institution. Much of what I am today is grounded in this background.
My passion
I am passionate about my work in Cybersecurity. I have studied various aspects of information security, identity, and assurance. I have authored over 100 research articles that have been published in various journals. Additionally, I am an author of over a dozen books and serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information Systems Security.
Influence
Machiavelli and Hobbes, as well as Rousseau, Hegel, and Nietzsche, have all shaped my thinking.
Experience
I have worked globally, including in the UK, Hong Kong, Portugal, Sweden, and now in the US. In the past, I have held academic positions at Cranfield School of Management, UK; City University of Hong Kong; University of Nevada Las Vegas; Virginia Commonwealth University; and UNC Greensboro. I also hold guest professorships at Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa).

Ranked 77th in the US on the ABDC list and similarly ranked in other productivity indices.
