David Campbell: Story of a Career recounts the remarkable journey of an educator whose career exemplified how communication came of age as an academic content area. The book provides historical background in terms of communication education at the institutions where Campbell taught. It also provides examples of his service, creative scholarly activity, and a productive career in higher education.
Through archived correspondence, photography, teaching materials, and interviews with colleagues, students, family, and friends, this book pays tribute to an educator whose career began with teaching speech and acting and ended with web-page design and digital video editing.
All proceeds from this book will go to The David S. Campbell Scholarship, managed by the East Stroudsburg University Foundation, to honor high academic achievement by undergraduate students enrolled in ESU’s Digital Media Technologies program. This scholarship was established by Campbell and was first awarded in 1998.
