Hello, I'm Penny Chen, currently a senior in the English Department of Soochow University. I am about to graduate soon. As AI continues to evolve rapidly, I would like to keep up with its pace and enhance my competitiveness. I often browse websites or Instagram to discover new AI tools and learning certifications, which help me stay updated and improve my skills. Since I've always enjoyed learning new things, the emerging field of AI naturally caught my interest. That's the main reason why I chose this course - Artificial Intelligence in Language Learning.

It was written for the sample position of "AI Research Project Assistant". While the position is the same for all students, I attempted to personalize the CV and integrate my prior work background, to practice presenting my strengths and bridge my coursework with future career.
The project was assigned to stimulate a job application scenario for the position of AI research Project Assistant. Since all students used a standardized template and job position, which allowed me to focus on leveraging AI tools to assist in generating and modifing the content of my CV.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT was utilized to assist in generating and polishing CV content. By carefully refining prompts to enhance the content, the composing process became precise, easier, and efficient.
Combining AI and Personalization in the Workplace
When prompting ChatGPT, I initially provide it my personal working experience specifically. This allowed the tool to personalize the content, and gave me tailored and suitable text for the CV. It's directly beneficial for the future preparation for a future job applications.
Writing this CV went quite smoothly overall, but I did find it slightly challenging to decide which experiences to emphasize. However, it helped me reflect on my past work experience and how it connects with the job position. I also learn how to utilize AI tools to support my writing, such as more professional wording or concise expression, which will be convenient once I effectively use the AI tools at hand.

It was somewhat large a bit challenging for me. I created my own original story about the Mid-Autumn Festival, combining with SDGs concepts, and used AI tools to assist in completing it. Finally, through simple programming (like putting puzzles together) and connecting with Kebbi robots to tell my created story in a lively and engaging way. (e.g. movements or expressions)
The project was inspired by the traditional Taiwanese festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, which emphasizes family reunion and togetherness. The target audience is young children, aiming to help them learn about environmental awareness and sustainable living through engaging in storytelling and interactive experiences. The well-known legend of Chang'e flying to the moon was chosen as the main narrative due to its rich imagery and possibility to spark children's curiosity. The story gradually introduces the concept of SDGs, aligned with the design approach that transitions from familiar culture to deeper global values.

Nuwa Programming Platform
The platform is used for programming Kebbi robots. It provides various function blocks that allow the robot to perform different actions or play audio. It also includes a display screen for simulating how the program will run on the Kebbi robot.
Culture, Education, AI and Programming
SDGs story lies in drawing inspiration from everyday life and integrating traditional culture with GAI (Generative AI) to create engaging and interactive content, hoping that this program can achieve in educating young children sustainable concepts and guiding them to take action in environmental protection. This project applies AI tools and programming as means for content generating and creating the final result, seamlessly blending creativity, cultural values, and educational purpose.
The process assisted me in gaining valuable experience in independent work, from story ideation, content revision, programming, to final presentation. Each stage challenged my ability to think critically and work through problems step by step. While I was initially unfamiliar with coding and found it intimidating, I gradually learned to be patient when encountering errors and took the time to identify and fix them. Collaborating with classmates also helped me understand how to debug effectively and exchange ideas.
By using ChatGPT as a supportive tool, I practiced giving clear prompts and checking out the output, learning how to revise and refine both the AI-generated content and my own thoughts or logic. I discovered that even small observations in everyday life can become meaningful ideas and then inspire creative results. This experience encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and try fearlessly. I expect myself to continuously learn programming skills like Python and explore generative AI tools.

This project was both engaging and refreshing. It began with deciding on the desired music style, which helped shape the theme and direction of the song. Generative AI (GAI) was then used to create and revise the lyrics. Finally, a music generation AI was applied to compose a melody that matched the lyrics, making it possible for me, without a musical background, to produce my own song.
The inspiration for this project didn't stem from a specific story or image, but rather from a broad and uplifting concept of positivity. With this theme as a starting point, the goal was to create a song that could be understood and deeply felt by listeners, generating resonance with real emotions. This piece was intended to accompany those who are striving forward or feeling lost, offering a sense of comfort and encouragement through its message and melody. Also, this song gradually evolved into a message of growth and gentle encouragement, reminding me to stay passionate about life and to bravely move forward despite self-doubt or setbacks.

ChatGPT was utilized to assist in generating and refining lyrics. By carefully and continuously revising prompts to enhance the content, the AI-generated song could be attractive. Using ChatGPT, the song can concisely reflect my ideas and finally correspond with my expectations.
Suno AI
Suno AI is a generative AI tool for music creation that offers two modes. The first, Suno Simple, allows users to generate an entire song by simply entering a prompt describing their personalized idea. The second, Suno Custom, is the mode used in this project. In this mode, users can input their own lyrics and song title, and select a preferred music style to generate a song that aligns with their creative vision.
Magic Light AI
Magic Light AI is a platform that can transform written content into videos. It offers customizable characters, diverse visual styles, and multilingual emotional voiceovers. In this project, I utilized this tool to convert the themes or scenes I would like to convey as the main visual, enhancing the emotional expression of the song.
Capcut
CapCut is a tool for video editing. In this project, only its fundamental functions were used, such as cropping photos, applying entrance and exit animations, and adding subtitles. Finally, all the generated music and image materials were integrated to produce the final music video, which strongly enhances the overall emotional expression.
Bridging AI Creativity and Authentic Expression
The innovative aspect of this project lies in the creative collaboration between AI-generated song and self-reflection. While the majority of the lyrics were produced by AI, careful revision was applied to transform somewhat abstract language into more straightforward expressions. This adjustment made the lyrics more relatable and motivational, conveying an authentic message without feeling forced or unnatural. By blending generative AI with human sensitivity, this project demonstrates a unique songwriting method accessible even to those without a musical background.
Through this project, I accomplished something I once thought I couldn’t do, just like this original song I created. Once I broke through my inner doubts, I realized that anything is possible. During the process, I kept wondering what kind of song I would end up creating. I felt both excited and a little nervous. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised and truly satisfied with the result. What’s more, we even had the opportunity to present our project on stage. I stood not just on the stage of the classroom, but on the stage of the auditorium, in front of English professors, guests, and other students. For someone like me, who usually feels nervous and shy in front of an audience, this was both terrifying and exciting. That moment became a major breakthrough for me.
AI Tour Guide Chatbot

For this project, we created a chatbot to promote Taiwan's unique culture. Our team focused on the indigenous culture and traditional architecture of Nantou. We designed the chatbot to answer common questions users might have, such as local cuisine, local culture, transportation, accommodations, and religious beliefs. The goal was to make learning about local culture more interactive and engaging.
At first, we didn’t have a very specific reason for choosing this topic — we simply thought it looked interesting. Out of all the possible themes related to Taiwanese culture, we randomly picked the indigenous culture and architecture of Nantou. Surprisingly, as we started working on the chatbot, we did much information research beforehand, and we found that this topic was not only meaningful but also full of fascinating stories and traditions, further allowing us to gain a deeper understanding of regions far from us and cultures we are less familiar with. Even though the decision was a bit random, it turned out to be a rewarding and educational experience for our team.
The chatbot currently has a total of 4 chat sessions, with 16 messages in total. Most of the messages were about tourist sites, such as Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) and Chung Tai Chan Monastery (中台禪寺), which could suggest that users were primarily interested in exploring cultural and scenic attractions in Nantou. However, although the original purpose was to introduce the indigenous culture of Nantou, users rarely mentioned it. This may be due to a lack of clear prompts or guidance in the conversation flow. To improve this, perhaps we could add a few keywords about indigenous culture in the chatbot opening interface, further enhancing the reach of this culturally rich topic among international learners and tourists.
Edcafe AI
Edcafe AI is a user-friendly AI platform designed specifically for educators. It enables teachers to create customized chatbots effortlessly. It allows educators to upload their materials to personalize the learning experience. For this project, we used it as the promoter of Taiwan, making learning about Taiwanese indigenous culture more interactive and engaging.
Innovative Cultural Promotion through Personalized AI Chatbots
This project utilized AI chatbot technology to promote Taiwan’s indigenous culture in a personalized and interactive way. By customizing chatbot responses to meet diverse international learners' or tourists' needs, the platform makes learning more accessible and engaging. Unlike traditional brochures or guided tours, this approach allows foreigners to explore Taiwan more deeply and appreciate its rich cultural heritage.
The most challenging part of completing this project was gathering information. My teammates and I spent a lot of time researching, with each person taking on different tasks. Fortunately, we did not encounter major issues during the production process, so we were able to complete it smoothly and felt a strong sense of accomplishment. This project was different from previous ones and opened my eyes to new possibilities. Usually, the chatbots I see are customer service bots for online shopping platforms, internet banking, or official Line accounts used for marketing or customer support. I never imagined that I could build a chatbot to serve as a cultural ambassador. Perhaps in the future, this kind of chatbot can be used at various tourist attractions, allowing learners or visitors to access information easily anytime.

The guided reading project involved leading the entire class to read an academic article together. At the beginning, we used an AI tool by inputting the article and asking it to automatically generate slides and a mind map, and then finally checking the content or layout. This not only assisted our group but also helped classmates quickly and clearly understand the content of the article. Later, we further organized the content ourselves with AI tools and refined the design with a presentation template, completing a presentation that combined AI assistance.
This project involved randomly assigned groups and reading topics selected by Professor Chen, so we did not have to spend much time choosing articles. It gave us the chance to explore articles about AI in digital learning from the field of storytelling and connect with the knowledge and hands-on projects from our classes. This helped us to focus more on learning how to use AI tools to assist with reading and organizing content.

ChatGPT was utilized to assist in generating and refining the content for our presentation slides. By carefully crafting and refining prompts, we enhanced the clarity and quality of the material. This made the creation process more precise and efficient, assisting us in focusing more on the preparation of oral delivery and understanding of the topic.
Felo AI
Felo AI is an AI-powered platform that helps users quickly generate presentations and mind maps from given information. It simplifies the process of organizing and visualizing content, making it easier to understand complicated topics. For this project, I used Felo AI to create clear and structured presentations and mind maps to assist with our reading and discussion, while only selecting suitable templates and presentation styles to enhance the visual appeal.
Enhancing Learning Efficiency and Workflow with AI
The innovative aspect of this project lies in leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT and Felo AI) to enhance learning and streamline presentation creation. By generating draft slides, mind maps, and refining content and formatting, I saved much time and organized information more clearly. This approach not only improved learning outcomes but also demonstrated the practical potential of AI in academic function, directly corresponding with the objective of this course-Artificial Intelligence in Language Learning.
Through the guided reading project, I realized that there are increasingly more tools available to help learners complete multiple learning tasks with high efficiency. However, many of the results generated by the AI tools we used still require manual editing, especially regarding fonts and formatting. AI can provide us with a large amount of information, but to meet human needs, further manual refinement is necessary. To address this, I learned to combine AI assistance with personal insights or judgment. Nevertheless, AI tools remain valuable resources. When used properly and not abused, they can indeed help learners acquire a wealth of new knowledge and have shown me the importance of utilizing technology wisely.
Reflection for Entire Course

Over the 15-week course, I explored a wide range of topics and completed several projects. Although the process was challenging and I encountered many difficulties, seeing the final results always gave me a sense of accomplishment and even a bit of emotional satisfaction. I was surprised to realize that I could achieve things I once thought were beyond my abilities. Along the way, I have realized that many things once thought impossible can actually become possible.
Moving forward, I hope to carry this passion and sense of achievement with me as I continue to explore the field of Artificial Intelligence. One day, I look forward to integrating what I've learned into my future career in a value-driven way.
