I'm a social worker and sociologist by training as well as a professor at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and the CUNY Graduate Center. At the risk of being a "jack of all trades and master of none," I've never taken disciplinary boundaries very seriously.  My main areas of interest are public policy, the economics of public policy, basic income, guaranteed income, quantitative methods, philosophy of science/social science, and social/political philosophy. I was born and raised mainly in Northwest Baltimore, although I've now lived in NYC for longer than in Baltimore. I guess that makes me at least as much of a New Yorker as a Baltimorean. I also co-founded US Basic Income Guarantee (USBIG), an organization dedicated to facilitating discussion of Universal Basic Income as well as related policies.
