I am currently a Lecturer at the department of Economics at the University of Essex, UK. And a Visiting Lecturer at the UCL Global Business School for Health, UK.

I worked previously at the Virginia Commonwealth University in the US, where I taught undergraduate introductory and elective courses, and at the Executive MBA. I am also a past-president of the Virginia Association of Economists.

My research interest is on development and education, with a focus on educational choices, pedagogy and policy. 

I have a Ph.D. in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation.
