It has been a considerable time since website:
https://sites.google.com/view/prof-barrett
was posted. As no response has been forthcoming from anyone in that time, then it would be safe to assume, that no response will ever be forthcoming from anyone.
I refer to the article:
"A Predictability Comparison of 5 Different IOL Power Calculation Formulas in Eyes "
In this study it was shown that the Barrett Universal ll formula had the lowest prediction error in long eyes, however, there was no superiority in refractive outcome prediction between the 5 IOL formulas.
I refer to the article:
" Intraocular lens power calculations in Eyes with extreme myopia: Comparison of Barrett Universal ll , Haigis and Olsen formulas "
In this study it was shown that in eyes with an AL of 28.0 to 30.0 mms, all 3 formulas were accurate. In eyes with AL of 30.0 mm or more, the Barrett Universal ll formula was better than the Haigis formula, possibly because there were fewer influencing factors.
The Barrett Universal ll formula has been shown to be highly accurate over a wide range of ALs and hence the name "universal." However, it cannot be regarded as truly 'universal' because it is incapable of dealing with the case of a person suffering from keratoconus and requiring cataract surgery. In fact, no currently available formula, apart from my own formula, is capable of dealing with such a problem.
It is surprising to think that people around the world who suffer from keratoconus and have cataracts, are going blind just because ophthalmologists cannot work out what lenses to use for their eyes and not because their eyes cannot withstand the trauma of having a cataract operation. It has been demonstrated, admittedly, only on a small number of occasions, that their eyes are quite capable of withstanding such a trauma.
In the history of cataract surgery, there have only ever been four cataract operations that have ever been performed on a person suffering from keratoconus. With such a small number of cataract operations being performed around the world, it becomes extremely difficult to carry out any research work on this topic.
One can only speculate and theorise and have their theories tested out on some poor, unsuspecting person suffering from keratoconus.
Once an IOL is inserted into the eye of a person it cannot be removed. If it is the wrong strength, then that is just bad luck for the person who had the wrong lens inserted into his eye. Animals cannot be used in such cases either, not because of cruelty reasons, but because animals are incapable of conveying information as to the improvement in the state of their vision.
It thus becomes virtually impossible to test out any theories.
What we have here, is known as an "intractable medical problem", which occurs when a solution for a medical problem is theoretically possible, yet cannot be attained for practical reasons.
Details of the four cataract operations can be found on my website
https://sites.google.com/view/keratoconus3
These details must be stored in one central location because they are the only such details available on this topic anywhere in the world. Copyright laws must be suspended on this occasion for obvious reasons.
Anyone wishing to carry out any research work on this topic can simply go to that website and for that very reason, it is essential that there be a central location reserved for all information available, relating to this matter.
In addition, let me assure everyone that there is sufficient information available there, for anyone to find a solution to the problem of what lenses to use for a person suffering from keratoconus and requiring a cataract operation.
It is just a matter of perseverance.
After all, that was the only information that was made available to me when I managed to obtain my solution to this problem.
So, where are all the mathematical geniuses out there, with their complicated mathematical formulas?
Where are all the computer geniuses out there, with their fancy algorithms and apps?
Where are all the IOL formula makers out there, with their fabulous ao constants?
Why aren't they out there trying to find a solution to this problem?
They need not bother because, I can safely predict that I am the only person who is capable of ever discovering the solution to this problem.
Not even the fastest computer available anywhere in the world is capable of providing a solution to this problem because of the complex nature of the mathematics that is involved.
If, by some quirk of nature, someone else out there, manages to discover a solution to this problem, then it will do them very little good, because no ophthalmologist, with their present state of knowledge, would ever be able to determine whether or not their cataract operation was a success or failure using their formula.
With such limited research work occurring anywhere in the world, anyone can claim to be a world authority on keratoconus.
Even I, can claim to be the world authority on keratoconus.
It has been several years since website
https://sites.google.com/view/keratoconus3
was posted.
In that time, no one has managed to obtain a solution to the problem of what lenses to use for a person suffering from keratoconus and requiring cataract surgery, apart from myself.
If a solution to this problem has not been found by anyone in that time, then I can safely predict that a solution will never be found by anyone else, apart from myself. Anyone else, who is attempting to find a solution to this problem is just wasting their time.
It was only a chance discovery on my part that led me to obtain a solution to this problem, a chance discovery that is hardly likely ever to be repeated again by anyone else. All that I can say, is that it requires an entirely different type of mathematics in order for anyone to adequately deal with this problem.
