Bolzano, 29 June - 3 July, 2026
The Summer School on Process Mining is a five-day event hosted by the Free University of Bozen–Bolzano and organized in cooperation with the University of Bayreuth, the Technical University of Denmark and the University of Trento. The school is primarily aimed at doctoral students and early-stage researchers interested in factual process analysis by combining data-driven and model-based techniques. Its goal is to provide participants with solid theoretical foundations and practical skills through a combination of lectures, hands-on sessions, and discussions with leading experts in the field of Process Mining.
The program covers both foundational concepts and advanced topics. The foundational track addresses key formalisms of procedural and declarative approaches and their properties, as well as process discovery, conformance checking, performance analysis, and simulation. The advanced track focuses on large-scale process mining, visualization, and privacy. Several advanced lectures will present research results obtained through activities carried out within the framework of the SOURCED project.
The school is supported by the IEEE Task Force on Process Mining. The previous edition of the summer school took place in Aachen in 2022.
For participants who need to earn ECTS credits, the school will offer 2 ECTS points.
