Academic Status and Education
Priya Krishnan is a PhD candidate in Management at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE), specializing in marketing with a research focus on cognitive biases and behavioral science. She is a Visiting Assistant in Research at Yale School of Management. Her academic journey spans globally, with a Master in Advanced Management from Yale SOM (2016), an MBA from IE Business School (2015), and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Madras University (2002). She also serves as a teaching assistant and lab assistant at Nova SBE, contributing to both pedagogy and experimental research at the Behavioral Lab.
Professional Experience
Prior to her PhD, Priya built a 12+ year career in strategic and leadership roles across the entertainment and telecom industries. She held senior management positions at IMAX, PVR Cinemas, and Virgin Mobile, where she led cross-functional teams in marketing, partnerships, and business development. Her work has consistently focused on scaling consumer-facing businesses, launching new initiatives involving technology, and driving adoption in high-growth markets. Her industry experience informs her research and teaching with grounded, real-world relevance.
Research Interests and Philosophy
Priya’s research interests center on behavioral science, gender and cognitive biases, and how they manifest in consumer and managerial decision-making. She is particularly interested in the intersection of technology and social equity—specifically, how digital tools can be harnessed to address systemic gaps in women’s physical and mental health. She is passionate about creating scalable, tech-enabled interventions that improve health outcomes for women, especially in contexts where traditional healthcare access is limited. Her academic work is driven by a strong commitment to practical impact, aiming to connect theoretical insight with applied solutions.
