- The National Crimes Records Bureau (NCRB) has made available all its annual reports beginning 1953. They can be viewed here.

- The Integrated Network for Societal Conflict Research (INSCR) has digitized and coded some of the crime data, specifically "compiles country, state, and district (beginning in 1971) figures on annual numbers of riots, murders, and dacoity events (also, cases of arson beginning in 1996); includes annual state numbers of civil and armed police and area and population figures".
