PRIVACY POLICY - PHONE SIMULATOR
Last Updated: August 18, 2026
1. OVERVIEW
Phone Simulator ("we", "our", or "the extension") values and respects your privacy. Phone Simulator is a developer utility and responsive mobile viewport testing tool. We do not sell, rent, monetize, or share your personal data with third parties.
2. DATA COLLECTION & USAGE
• Personal Data: We do not collect personal browsing logs, history, or sensitive data. When you sign in to access Pro features, your account email and subscription status are processed securely to verify active licenses.
• Local Operation: The simulator runs inside your browser. Tested websites communicate directly with their respective web servers without passing through any proxy servers operated by us.
• No Tracking: We do not sell your personal data or track your browsing activity across the web.
3. PERMISSIONS & PURPOSE EXPLANATION
Phone Simulator requests only standard Chrome extension permissions strictly required for its core features:
• declarativeNetRequest: Used exclusively to modify HTTP request headers (applying mobile User-Agent strings) and response headers (removing X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy restrictions) on simulator sub-frames so mobile websites render correctly in device viewports.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): Grants declarativeNetRequest permission to apply mobile user-agents and unblock frame headers across websites you choose to test in the simulator, and facilitates license status synchronization with myexthub.com.
• tabs: Used to fetch the URL and title of your active tab when you click "Simulate Active Page", manage simulator workbench tabs, and route in-frame navigation.
• contextMenus: Used solely to provide a quick right-click shortcut ("Open in MobileView Simulator") on links and web pages.
• storage: Used to save your UI preferences (light/dark theme), custom device definitions, and subscription/trial status locally and via Chrome sync storage.
• cookies: Used exclusively to read and store trial session identifiers on myexthub.com to maintain persistent trial status and prevent trial reset abuse upon reinstallation.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & PAYMENTS
Payment processing and user account authentication for Pro features are handled securely via Stripe and MyExtHub (https://myexthub.com). We do not store financial payment information or credit card numbers.
5. SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard any stored settings and account synchronization tokens within Chrome's secure storage environment.
