This Privacy Policy explains how VPN Console (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our Android application.
VPN Console is a VPN client that helps you connect to public VPN Gate relay servers. It also offers optional features such as custom proxy settings, a visible IP checker, and a basic speed test. VPN Console does not operate its own VPN servers.
By installing or using VPN Console, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs.
We do not require you to create an account.
Most information stays on your device.
When you connect to a VPN, your internet traffic is routed through third-party relay servers you choose.
VPN Console stores the following data locally on your device using Android’s private app storage:
Cached relay directory data from the public VPN Gate server list, including relay hostnames, IP addresses, country, ping, session count, speed, and OpenVPN profile data.
App preferences, including your selected country filter, favorite relays, dark mode setting, WebRTC Shield setting, and VPN connection timer state.
Optional custom proxy settings that you enter, including proxy type, host, port, username, and password. These values remain on your device and are used only to configure your connection.
Local connection status and diagnostic information used to display app state and help troubleshoot connection issues.
Your acceptance of the VPN disclosure notice shown before first use.
We do not operate a backend server that collects or stores your personal profile, account details, or browsing history.
VPN Console does not intentionally collect:
Your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address (unless you contact us directly)
Payment information (the App does not include in-app purchases in the current version)
Contacts, photos, files, SMS, call logs, or precise location data
Advertising identifiers for ad targeting
When you use VPN Console, the App may connect to the following services:
The App downloads the public VPN Gate relay list over HTTPS from:
https://www.vpngate.net/api/iphone/
This is used to show available servers and connection profiles.
When you connect, your device’s network traffic may be routed through the public VPN Gate relay you select, and through any optional custom proxy you configure. VPN Console does not control these third-party operators.
When you tap Check Visible IP, or after a VPN connection is established, the App may contact public HTTPS IP lookup services, including:
https://api.ipify.org
https://checkip.amazonaws.com
These services are used only to display your visible public IP address in the App.
When you tap Start Speed Test, the App may contact Cloudflare speed-test endpoints over HTTPS and transfer limited sample data to estimate:
Ping
Download speed (approximately 10 MB sample)
Upload speed (approximately 2 MB sample)
If a VPN connection is active, the speed test runs through the VPN tunnel.
We use the information described above only to:
Display available VPN relays and connection options
Connect and disconnect your selected VPN relay
Save your preferences and favorite relays
Apply optional proxy settings you provide
Show your visible public IP address
Run optional speed tests
Display connection status, elapsed connection time, and troubleshooting information
Improve reliability of the App’s core functions
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
VPN Console relies on services and infrastructure operated by third parties, including:
VPN Gate (University of Tsukuba volunteer relay project) for public relay listings and VPN connectivity
Public IP lookup providers (such as ipify and Amazon AWS checkip) for the IP checker feature
Cloudflare for speed-test endpoints
Any custom proxy provider you choose to configure
These third parties may process network metadata and traffic according to their own policies. VPN Console does not control how relay operators or proxy providers handle data. Traffic that is not protected by end-to-end encryption (for example, some website or app traffic) may be visible to the relay or proxy operator.
We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party service you use through the App.
VPN Console requests the following Android permissions:
Internet — to download relay lists, check visible IP, and run speed tests
VPN service — to establish and manage VPN connections
Foreground service — to keep the VPN connection active while in use
Notifications — to show VPN connection status (where supported by your device)
The App does not request access to contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or precise location.
Data stored on your device remains there until you clear the App’s storage, reset App settings, or uninstall the App.
We do not maintain a central database of your App usage.
Temporary files such as exported OpenVPN profiles may be stored in the App’s cache and removed when cleared by the system or the App.
We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the App, including:
Using HTTPS for relay directory, IP-check, and speed-test requests
Disabling Android backup for App data (allowBackup=false)
Storing preferences and proxy credentials in the App’s private local storage
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use public third-party VPN relays at your own discretion.
VPN Console is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it if applicable.
You can:
Disconnect the VPN at any time
Clear App data or uninstall the App to remove locally stored settings, favorites, proxy credentials, and cached relay data
Disable optional features such as the IP checker or speed test by not using them
Remove custom proxy settings in the App settings
Because VPN Console does not maintain user accounts, there is no online profile for us to delete on your behalf.
VPN Console may connect to servers and services located in different countries. By using the App, you understand that your connection data may be processed in jurisdictions where relay operators and service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may also provide notice within the App or on our Google Play listing.
Your continued use of VPN Console after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
