Privacy Policy for Vidbrowse
Effective date: July 26, 2026
Vidbrowse ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a video-focused web browser and on-device video player. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Vidbrowse, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
a) Analytics and diagnostics (via Google Firebase)
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to detect and fix crashes. This automatically collects:
- App usage data (screens viewed, features used, taps, session length)
- A pseudonymous app-instance identifier generated by Firebase
- Device and technical information (device model, operating system version, language, region, app version)
- Crash logs and diagnostic/performance data
This information is not linked to your real-world identity, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites. The App does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).
b) Photo library (videos)
If you use the in-app Video Player, the App can access the videos saved in your device's photo library only after you grant permission. These videos are read on your device to display and play them. We do not upload, copy to our servers, or share your photos or videos. They never leave your device.
c) Data stored only on your device
The following are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us:
- Browsing history and bookmarks
- Videos you import into the App's library, and folders/favorites you create
- App preferences (such as your selected language and playback settings)
d) Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, or account credentials. Vidbrowse does not require you to create an account or log in.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate and provide the App's features
- Understand usage and improve performance and stability
- Diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. Websites You Visit
Vidbrowse is a web browser built on Apple's WebKit (WKWebView). When you visit third-party websites through the App, those websites are governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses services provided by Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics). Data processed by these services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We only share data with the third-party service provider named above (Google Firebase) strictly to provide analytics and crash reporting.
6. Data Retention
Analytics and crash data are retained by Google Firebase according to Google's data-retention settings. Data stored locally on your device (history, bookmarks, imported videos, settings) remains until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Delete local data: Use the App's Settings to clear history/bookmarks, or delete imported videos and folders. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
- Photo access: You can grant or revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos.
- Depending on your region, you may have rights to access or delete your data. Contact us using the details below.
8. Children's Privacy
Vidbrowse is not directed to children under 17 and is rated 17+. It provides unrestricted access to the web. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
We rely on Apple's platform protections and reputable service providers (Google Firebase) to help protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Effective date." Future versions of the App may introduce advertising; if that happens, this policy will be updated accordingly before those features are released.
