Shadow Trail (also known as "Jejak Bayangan"; "the app") is a decision-journaling and self-reflection application developed by The Shadow Trail Team . We respect your privacy and design the app so that almost everything stays on your device. This policy explains what limited information is handled, how it is used, and your choices. By using the app you agree to this policy.
The app does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, or audio.
a) Data stored only on your device. Your decision entries (category, decision type, date/time, optional free-text note), AI-generated reflections ("Shadows"), follow-up feelings, and preferences (language, theme, reminders) are stored locally on your device only and never leave it unless you take one of the actions below.
b) Data sent to generate an AI reflection (only when you request it). When you tap "Read My Pattern", the app sends a summary of your recorded entries — aggregate counts plus your most recent entries including their optional notes — over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our serverless function, which forwards it to the Google Gemini API to generate your reflection. This data is processed transiently only, is not stored on our servers, is not used for any other purpose, and contains no name, email, location, contacts, or device identifiers.
c) Purchase information. Purchases (Pro subscription / lifetime) are processed by Google Play Billing. We use RevenueCat solely to validate and restore your entitlements using an anonymous identifier. We never see or store your payment details.
d) Advertising (free version only). The free version displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use the advertising ID and limited interaction data to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent and Google's policies. In the EEA/UK we request consent via a consent message before showing personalized ads; you may withdraw consent anytime, reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads in device settings. The Pro version shows no ads.
e) Notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device; the notification permission is used only for reminders you enable. No server is involved.
To provide journaling, pattern charts and reflections; to generate an AI reflection when you request it; to validate and restore purchases; to display ads to free-version users where consent allows. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your notes or reflections to train AI models.
Entries and reflections remain on your device until you delete them (Settings → Delete all data) or uninstall the app. AI request payloads are not stored server-side. Backup files you export go only where you choose (e.g., Google Drive) and remain under your control.
Data Deletion — Jejak Bayangan (Shadow Trail)
On-device data (decisions, notes, Shadow history, preferences): delete via app → Settings → "Delete all data", or clear app data / uninstall. Immediate and permanent.
Server-side data: (a) Founder names submitted via the Founder credit dialog — stored until deletion is requested; (b) Brief pattern statistics sent for AI text generation — processed transiently, not stored.
To request server data deletion: email halo.jejakbayangan@gmail.com with subject "Data Deletion Request" + the name you submitted. Completed within 30 days.
Access/export: export a full copy of your data anytime (Settings → Save a data copy).
Delete: permanently erase all data from your device anytime.
Consent: refuse or withdraw ad consent; the app remains fully usable.

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Device data is protected by the operating system; you may enable a biometric/PIN app lock (handled entirely by Android — we never collect biometric data). Network requests use TLS encryption.
