QuickScan is designed to minimize data collection. We do not require account registration, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or government ID through the App.
QR / Barcode scan results: When you scan a code, the decoded text or URL is processed and may be saved locally in your scan history.
Generated QR content: When you use the Generate feature, the text or URL you enter is used only to create a QR preview on your device.
User actions: If you choose to copy, share, or open a scanned/generated result, that action is initiated by you.
The App stores limited information on your device using local device storage (SharedPreferences / app storage):

QuickScan uses your device camera to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. Camera frames are processed on your device to detect codes. We do not upload camera video or photos to our servers, and we do not permanently store raw camera images in the App.

No contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, or microphone/audio recordings
No advertising identifiers for ad tracking

We use information only to provide and improve App functionality, including:

Operating camera flash/torch during scanning when you enable it

QuickScan uses trusted third-party software libraries to provide core features. These libraries operate according to their own terms and privacy practices.
The App uses Google ML Kit Barcode Scanning to detect and decode barcodes from camera frames. In this App, barcode scanning is performed on-device. Camera frames are processed locally on your phone to extract barcode values. We do not send your scan history to Google through this App.
Google may provide additional information in its own policies:

Share Plus: Opens the system share sheet so you can share content with apps you choose

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. If camera permission is denied, scanning will not work, but other features may still be available where applicable.

Information may be shared only in these limited situations:
When you choose to share: If you tap Share, the content is sent through your device's native share menu to the app or service you select (for example, WhatsApp, Gmail, Messages).
When you choose to open a link: If you open a scanned URL, your browser or external app may collect information according to its own policy.
When you copy content: Copied text is placed on your device clipboard and may be accessible to other apps on your device until clipboard data is cleared.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may be transferred subject to this Privacy Policy.
Scan history is stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
You can delete individual history items by swiping to remove them in the History screen.
You can delete all App data by clearing app storage in device settings or uninstalling the App.
We do not retain copies of your scan history after you delete it from your device, because we do not receive that data on our servers.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Because scan history is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for securing your device with a passcode, biometric lock, or other protections.

Scanned QR codes may contain links to malicious or unsafe websites. Always verify links before opening them.
Anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to view your scan history.
QuickScan is a general utility app and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at [your-email@example.com], and we will assist with deleting local data by guiding you to clear app data or uninstall the App.

QuickScan is designed to work primarily offline. QR/barcode scanning, local history storage, and QR generation do not require an internet connection. Internet access is only relevant when you voluntarily open an external website or use a third-party app through the share feature.
Scanned or generated QR codes may contain links to third-party websites, apps, payment pages, social media profiles, or other external content. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
