PDF to Word Converter (“the extension”) converts PDF files into Word documents from within your browser. We respect your privacy and are committed to minimal data handling.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) or sensitive data.

What the Extension Processes

• The extension processes only the PDF files you explicitly choose to convert.
  
  

• To perform the conversion, the PDF is securely sent to our third-party conversion service at pdfrest.com. The service returns a Word document to your browser.
  
  

• The extension does not use the processed files for any other purpose.
  
  

Permissions

• activeTab and scripting are used to enable the conversion UI on PDF pages you visit.
  
  

• Host permission to https://api.pdfrest.com/* is required solely to perform the file conversion.
  
  

Third Parties

• Files are transmitted to pdfrest.com only for conversion and are not sold or shared with unrelated third parties by the extension.
  
  

• Please review pdfrest.com’s policies for details on how they handle data on their servers.
  
  

Data Retention

• The extension does not retain PDFs or Word files.
  
  

• Any temporary handling occurs only for the duration of the conversion process.
  
  

Analytics & Tracking

• The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or profiling.
  
  

Children’s Privacy

• The extension is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information.
  
  

Security

• We use HTTPS for communication with the conversion API to help protect files in transit.
