# Magivid Privacy Policy
**Last updated: September 30, 2026**
This Privacy Policy describes how Klypp Oterholm, the independent operator and rights holder of Magivid ("Magivid," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you download or use the Magivid mobile application, reach out to us, or otherwise engage with our services (together, the "Service"). Klypp Oterholm, acting as an individual, is responsible for the personal information handled to run the Service.
Please read this Policy before using the Service. If the practices set out below are not acceptable to you, do not upload media to Magivid or use the Service.
## 1. What Magivid Does
Magivid is an AI-driven app for making photos and videos. Depending on which tool you open, you can bring in or capture photos and clips, type text prompts, run face-swap and other visual effects, produce new media, and store finished pieces on your phone.
A portion of this work happens locally on your device. The AI generation and media transformation run on our own servers backed by GPU computing power; the media and directions those steps require travel to the servers over encrypted connections.
We neither train nor fine-tune AI models. The media you upload, the prompts you type, any facial data, and the results we return are never used to train or fine-tune models, and providers acting for us are likewise barred from using them that way.
## 2. Information We Process
### 2.1 Media and creative inputs
We handle the originating photos and videos (including any audio inside them), reference pictures, replacement-face shots, text prompts, chosen styles, generation directions, and anything else you decide to send. We also handle short-lived working files, the photos and videos we produce, previews, and the technical job data needed to hand a result back to you. How long each category is kept appears in Section 5.
### 2.2 Facial data
For any tool that works with a face, our software may detect facial landmarks, placement, expression, contours, or comparable geometric traits within the picture or clip you supply. That data serves only to align, reshape, or synthesize the visual output you asked for.
Magivid never uses this facial data to confirm who you are, to sign you in, to follow you between locations, to assemble an advertising profile, or to keep a standing face-recognition database. Facial data is not sold.
The source face pictures, cropped faces, facial data, and temporary files produced from your source media are handled on our own GPU servers and are erased inside the 24-hour source-data window set out in Section 5.1.
### 2.3 Device and service data
Magivid may automatically receive a narrow set of technical details, for example:
- IP address, network state, and a rough country or region inferred from the network;
- device model, operating-system version, app build, language, locale, and time zone;
- crash reports, diagnostic logs, feature usage, request timing, and response outcomes;
- pseudonymous install, transaction, or service identifiers; and
- protective signals that help block fraud, automated abuse, and unauthorized access.
This is used to run, secure, maintain, and refine the Service. Advertising measurement and Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt are covered separately in Section 2.7.
### 2.4 Purchases and subscriptions
Apple handles payment through the App Store. Apple, together with our subscription-management provider Apphud, may pass us the purchase state, product identifier, renewal status, country or region, and a pseudonymous transaction or user identifier. Your full card number and your Apple ID password never reach us.
### 2.5 Communications
When you write to us, we handle your email address and the message itself, plus any attachments or diagnostic details you choose to add.
### 2.6 Device permissions
Magivid may ask to use the camera, the microphone, the photo library, and notifications. Camera and microphone access come into play only when you choose to shoot or record media; photo-library access applies when you import or save media. Notification access lets us tell you a job has finished or pass along other Service notices. Every one of these can be adjusted in iOS Settings.
### 2.7 App Tracking Transparency and advertising measurement
Magivid may present Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt to ask whether tracking for advertising attribution is allowed. The aim is to learn which advertising campaigns bring people to Magivid and to gauge how well our marketing performs.
If you grant it, advertising identifiers — including Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) where present — along with pseudonymous install identifiers and install or conversion events may be used for this and matched to campaign data. For this attribution we work with Meta Platforms, Inc. through the Facebook SDK, which receives app events and the associated advertising identifiers to measure campaigns; this tracking, and any related sharing with attribution providers, happens only after you give ATT permission.
If you refuse, we do not read the IDFA or trail you across other companies' apps and sites for advertising. Turning this down, or later revoking it, still leaves you free to use Magivid's creative tools, buy products, and reach paid features under their usual subscription and spark rules.
We never feed uploaded photos, videos, prompts, facial data, or results into advertising attribution, advertising profiles, or tracking.
You can revisit the choice whenever you like under iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The ATT prompt stands apart from the camera, microphone, photo-library, and notification prompts, and simply agreeing to these documents or using the Service is not ATT permission.
## 3. Why We Use Information
We rely on the information to:
- take in and finish your face-swap, generation, and editing jobs;
- return results and keep your in-app library on your device;
- read your subscription state and spark balance;
- offer customer support and address complaints;
- investigate faults, watch performance, and raise reliability;
- gauge how advertising campaigns perform, with your separate ATT permission whenever tracking is involved;
- shield users, the Service, and our providers from fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- apply our Terms of Use; and
- satisfy legal and regulatory duties.
Where data-protection law calls for a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating and defending the Service, compliance with law, or consent where consent is needed. Consent can be pulled back at any moment, though doing so leaves earlier lawful processing untouched.
## 4. How Information Is Shared
We share information only to the extent reasonably required for the purposes in this Policy.
### 4.1 Service providers
The AI generation and face-related steps run on our own GPU servers. Infrastructure vendors supply the computing, storage, networking, and security capacity those servers need; they do not offer a standalone AI-generation product to users.
The other services we rely on are:
- Apple — App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, refunds, and subscription handling;
- Apphud — pseudonymous user identification, subscription entitlements, purchase events, and paywall operation; and
- Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook SDK) — measurement and attribution of advertising campaigns, using app events and advertising identifiers when you have allowed tracking.
Scene covers and template previews shown in the app are delivered as public files through standard hosting and content-delivery providers, which receive only the request and network details (such as IP address) needed to serve those files.
What we hand any provider is confined to what their role requires. Providers acting on our behalf must follow our directions, guard the data to at least this Policy's standard, and use it solely to deliver the agreed service. Infrastructure providers may not use submitted faces or media for advertising, independent identification, or model training. The Section 5 retention caps extend to server-side copies kept for us.
Apple and other services may process information on their own when you deal with them directly — for instance, an App Store purchase — under their respective privacy policies, which does not lessen our responsibility for information we release from Magivid.
### 4.2 Legal and safety
We may keep or reveal information where we reasonably judge it necessary to obey the law, answer a lawful government request, shield someone from harm, look into misuse, enforce our agreements, or defend legal rights. Retention still follows the category limits in Section 5.
### 4.3 Business changes
Information may move as part of a merger, financing round, reorganization, acquisition, or asset sale. Any successor stays bound by the commitments covering information transferred under this Policy.
### 4.4 At your request
We may release information when you ask us to or give separate, informed consent.
We do not sell your uploaded photos, videos, prompts, generated media, or facial data.
## 5. Storage and Retention
### 5.1 Source and facial-processing data: within 24 hours
Everything you submit for generation or transformation stays on our servers for no longer than 24 hours after you send it. That covers source photos and videos, audio inside submitted clips, reference and replacement-face pictures, prompts, and generation directions. Cropped faces, derived facial data, and temporary working files are cleared on the same schedule as the source they came from. The cap holds whether a job succeeds, fails, or is cut short.
### 5.2 Generated results: up to 72 hours
Finished photos, videos, and their previews sit on our servers briefly so the app can fetch them. They are usually gone inside 48 to 72 hours of creation and are never held past 72 hours. Save anything you want to keep before it leaves our servers.
The caps in Sections 5.1 and 5.2 reach server-side working copies and any backups of the same data; such copies never stretch these windows. Logs may not be used to hold source media, prompts, facial-processing data, or results beyond their limits.
### 5.3 Copies on your device
Server caps do not touch files you keep on your own device. Magivid may store recent source media locally so you can reuse it; clear it with "Clear all" in Recents. Automatic cleanup also drops older entries, including any untouched for more than 30 days when cleanup runs.
Results pulled into Magivid's local library stay in the app's storage until that local data is cleared. Removing the app deletes its local media storage but not results you saved to the system Photos library, files you exported elsewhere, or copies you shared with other services; manage those in Photos, Files, or the place you sent them.
### 5.4 Service identifiers, purchases, and spark records
Pseudonymous service identifiers, sign-in records, subscription state, purchase details, and spark balances are kept as long as needed to grant access, run purchases and non-expiring sparks, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting duties. These records sit apart from the short-lived media and facial data above.
### 5.5 Technical, advertising, support, and security records
Technical logs, permitted advertising-attribution records, support threads, and fraud-prevention records live only as long as reasonably needed for their stated purpose or the law. We weigh retention by the record type, its operational role, dispute-resolution needs, and legal duties.
Apple and other services may keep records of your direct dealings with them under their own policies and duties; those separate records do not widen the limits for media we process for you.
## 6. International Processing
Magivid and its providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy rules can differ. Where required, we apply recognized transfer safeguards or another lawful mechanism and require recipients to protect the information suitably.
## 7. Security
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational protections meant to safeguard information, among them encrypted transfer of media and directions to our servers, access controls, and restricted provider access. No online service or storage can promise perfect security, so submit only media you are comfortable running through an online AI service.
## 8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to:
- ask for access to, or a copy of, the personal information tied to you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask that information be deleted;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- obtain portable information in a usable machine-readable form;
- withdraw consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.
You can also control camera, microphone, photo, and notification access in iOS Settings and manage subscriptions through your Apple account.
Tracking permission can be allowed, refused, or withdrawn under iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, as Section 2.7 explains.
To make a privacy request, email Klyppoterholm@icloud.com using the subject "Magivid Privacy Request." We may have to confirm the request relates to you, and we will reply within the time the law allows. Some requests can be limited where keeping or processing the data is legally required or needed to protect other people.
## 9. U.S. State Privacy Disclosures
If you reside in a U.S. state with its own consumer-privacy statute, you may hold additional rights — to learn which categories of personal information are handled, to request access, correction, or deletion, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Magivid does not sell your personal information and does not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by such statutes, and it does not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond the purposes those laws permit. You, or an authorized agent acting for you, may submit a request at Klyppoterholm@icloud.com; we may need to verify identity or authority before we act.
## 10. Children
Magivid is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from a child under 13. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for a child to consent to online data processing, that higher age governs unless a parent or legal guardian gives valid authorization. If you think a child provided information without the needed permission, contact us and we will look into it and take appropriate action.
## 11. Third-Party Services and Your Own Sharing
The Service may point to outside websites or services that run under their own privacy practices, which this Policy does not govern. If you export or post generated media, the platform or recipient you pick will handle it under its own rules.
## 12. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Policy as the product, the law, or security needs shift. We will move the effective date and give further notice where the law requires. Continuing to use Magivid once a revised Policy takes effect means the new version governs your later use, subject to any consent rules in your area.
