Tellwise · Last updated October 23, 2026
Tellwise is built so that your meetings stay yours. Everything the app records, transcribes and writes is processed on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. We do not run servers that receive your data, and we do not collect any data from the app.
What stays on your device
Audio recordings, transcripts, minutes and action items
Speaker names and voice profiles you choose to save
Calendar details and, if you turn it on, e-mail context used to improve the minutes
This data is stored in an encrypted database on your device and is never uploaded by Tellwise. You can delete audio, single meetings, voice profiles or everything at any time in the app. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Data we collect
None. Tellwise has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never see your recordings or anything derived from them.
Voice profiles
When you teach Tellwise your voice, or choose “Remember voice” for someone, a numerical voice signature is stored in the encrypted database on your device so that person can be recognized in later meetings. It is only saved when you choose to, it never leaves your device, and it can be deleted individually or all at once in Settings.
Calendar
If you allow calendar access, Tellwise reads the event that matches your meeting to suggest a title and participants. Calendar data is read on your device only.
Microsoft 365 (optional)
If you sign in with Microsoft, Tellwise connects directly from your device to Microsoft Graph to read your Outlook calendar and, only if you turn it on, recent e-mails with meeting participants. This data goes straight from Microsoft to your device and is stored encrypted there. It is never sent to us. Signing out deletes the downloaded Microsoft data from the app. Microsoft's handling of your account is covered by Microsoft's privacy statement.
Model downloads
The first time you record, Tellwise downloads its speech model and, on devices without Apple Intelligence, a language model, from Hugging Face. These are ordinary file downloads. No recordings or personal data are sent.
Apple Intelligence
On supported devices, minutes are written with Apple's on-device Foundation Models. This runs locally on your device.
Sharing
Minutes only leave your device if you share or export them yourself, for example by e-mail or to Files.
Recording others
You are responsible for making sure everyone in a meeting agrees to being recorded, in line with the laws where you are.
Children
Tellwise is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
