Privacy Policy for SoSoSheep

This Privacy Policy explains how SoSoSheep (“we”, “us”, or “the App”) handles information when you use our mobile application. SoSoSheep is a gentle sleep-aid experience that helps people wind down by counting sheep. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice or treatment.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information stored on your device (local only)

• Sleep Journal (10-day personal log): sleep-related records such as date and sheep counts for recent nights. This data stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers as part of the journal feature.

• App settings: for example language preference, selected music, and related preferences, stored locally on your device.

B. Information related to the Night Companions feature (cloud)

If you use Night Companions (深夜同路人), we use Firebase (Google) with anonymous authentication (no email/password sign-up required by us). We may process:

• An anonymous account identifier

• A display name (which may be a default gentle nickname or one associated with your session)

• Language preference

• Night activity related to the feature (for example sheep count for that night, attempt-related counters, and hug/heart counts)

• Last active time needed to show recent companions

C. Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not ask for your real name, phone number, or precise location.
We do not use the App to run third-party advertising networks or App Tracking Transparency “tracking” for cross-app advertising.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide core App features (counting sheep, music, settings, Sleep Journal)

• Operate the Night Companions board and related interactions (such as sending a goodnight hug)

• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix bugs

• Respond to your requests (including privacy/deletion requests)

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Services

Firebase / Google

Night Companions uses Google Firebase (including anonymous Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Google may process data according to its own policies:

External links

The App may contain links that open outside the App (for example a support/donation webpage). Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

4. Data Retention

• Local Sleep Journal / settings: remain on your device until you delete the App or clear App data.

• Night Companions (Firebase): retained while needed to operate the feature (for example to show recent nighttime companions). We may remove stale or inactive entries as part of normal operations.

5. Your Choices & Deletion

You can:

• Stop using Night Companions by not opening that feature

• Delete local data by removing the App or clearing App storage in your device settings

• Request deletion of Night Companions-related data associated with your anonymous session by emailing win2094@gmail.com and describing your request (include your approximate region/timezone and any display name shown in the App if possible, so we can locate the relevant record)

We will reasonably attempt to delete cloud data we control after verifying the request.

6. Children’s Privacy

SoSoSheep is intended for a general audience seeking a calm sleep routine. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for commercial exploitation. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, contact win2094@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. International Processing

If you use Night Companions, data may be processed on servers operated by Google/Firebase, which may be located outside your country of residence.

9. Health Disclaimer

SoSoSheep is for relaxation and sleep hygiene support only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. If you have sleep or health concerns, consult a qualified professional.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
