Privacy Policy for Meds Reminder
1. Introduction
Meds Reminder ("the App") is a mobile application developed by AntoTech ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.
The App is a comprehensive health management tool designed to help users manage medications and first-aid supplies. Key features include multi-user profiles, dose reminders, AI-powered image recognition, drug interaction checking, FDA recall monitoring, and clinical data reporting.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App operates on a Privacy-by-Design principle: your personal health data is stored locally on your device and is not collected or stored on our servers.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide (Stored Locally)
Health & Medication Data: Names of medications, dosages, purpose, prescribing physicians, schedules, and treatment history.
First Aid Inventory: Item names, quantities, purchase dates, expiration dates, and storage conditions.
User Profiles: Names and color preferences for multiple profiles (e.g., family members).
Medical Reports: PDF files generated by the user containing adherence statistics and history.
Media: Photos of medication boxes or first aid items captured via your camera.
Note: All the above information is stored in your device's local database (IndexedDB) or local filesystem. We do not have access to this data.
B. Automatically Collected Information
Device & Usage Data: Non-personal information such as device model, operating system, and app version may be processed to ensure compatibility.
FDA Safety Data: The App queries the OpenFDA public API to check for medication recalls. This request uses the medication name but does not transmit your personal identity.
Version Checks: The App checks a secure remote file to notify you of critical updates and new features.
C. Third-Party Services
AI-Powered Assistance (Google Gemini API): When scanning a box or requesting a clinical summary, the App sends only the image or medication name to Google's AI services. No personal identifiers (name, email, or device ID) are attached to these requests.
Advertising (Google AdMob): The App displays ads to remain free of charge. AdMob may collect identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID), IP addresses, and usage data to serve relevant ads. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
App Functionality: To trigger local notifications for dose reminders and manage your health inventory.
Safety Monitoring: To cross-reference your medications with official FDA recall databases.
Reporting: To compile your local history into a PDF document for your personal use or to share with your doctor.
AI Processing: To automate data entry via image recognition and provide clinical education.
Maintenance: To improve app performance and fix technical bugs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal health information to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: All sensitive data is stored on your device. We do not use cloud synchronization for health data to ensure you have total control over your information.
User Responsibility: Since data is local, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. If you delete the App or clear its storage, your data will be permanently removed unless you have previously exported your PDF reports.
5. Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
Camera: To scan medication boxes and take inventory photos.
Notifications: To send critical reminders for your medication schedule.
Storage/Files: To save generated PDF medical reports to your device's "Download" folder.
Internet: To access FDA safety databases, AI services, and display ads.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for unsupervised use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians should manage profiles for minors within the App.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Data Control: You can add, edit, or delete any record within the App at any time.
