This Privacy Policy explains how DarbukaBeat (the “App”) handles information when you use the Android or iOS version of the App. DarbukaBeat is provided by the developer identified by the contact information above (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

DarbukaBeat does not require you to create an account or sign in.

The App does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, payment information, or other account information.

You may voluntarily select audio files from your device to use as backtracks or custom drum sounds. The App uses these files only to provide the audio features you request.

Selected custom sounds may be copied to the App’s private storage so they can be used again later. These audio files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

Performance Recordings

DarbukaBeat includes a recording feature for saving your performances.

This feature does not record audio from your microphone. Instead, the App records the drum-pad events or notes that you play, including information needed to reproduce the performance during playback.

When you play a saved recording, the App reproduces the recorded drum-hit sequence using the sounds available in the App.

Recording titles and drum-hit sequences are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.

Information Collected by Advertising Services

DarbukaBeat uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements, including banner and rewarded advertisements.

Google and its advertising partners may collect or process certain information, which may include:

• advertising identifiers;

• IP address;

• device and app information;

• approximate location derived from IP address;

• advertisement impressions and interactions;

• diagnostic information; and

• fraud-prevention and security information.

This information may be used to provide, measure, personalize, secure, and improve advertising services.

The availability of personalized advertising may depend on your device settings, applicable laws, consent choices, and privacy controls provided by Google or your operating system.

We do not use your locally stored recordings or selected audio files for advertising or profiling, and we do not use the advertising SDK to identify you by name.

2. Device Permissions and File Access

Android

DarbukaBeat may request permission to access audio media on your device when you use features that require browsing or selecting audio files, such as backtracks.

This permission is used only to provide the audio-related functionality requested by you. It is not used to access your contacts, messages, photos, location, or other unrelated content.

You can deny or revoke this permission through your Android device settings. If you do so, features that require access to your audio library may not be available.

When you select a custom sound through the Android system file picker, the App receives access to the file you select and may copy it to the App’s private storage so that it can be used later.

iOS

DarbukaBeat uses the iOS document picker when you choose an audio file.

The file selection process is controlled by iOS, and the App processes only the file you choose.

DarbukaBeat does not request access to your contacts, photos, precise location, or microphone.

The App's performance recording feature does not use the microphone because it records drum-hit events or notes rather than audio.

3. How We Use Information

Locally stored information is used to:

• provide drum-pad and musical instrument functionality;

• save and replay drum-hit or note sequences;

• manage performance recording titles;

• play backtracks selected by you;

• provide custom-sound functionality;

• remember sound assignments and App settings; and

• provide the App's requested features and functionality.

We do not upload your locally stored performance recordings, selected audio files, or custom sounds to our servers.

We do not use this locally stored content for advertising, profiling, or AI training.

Google Mobile Ads may separately process certain device and advertising-related information to provide and measure advertisements, prevent fraud, and operate its advertising services.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We do not share your locally stored performance recordings, custom sounds, or selected audio files with third parties.

Certain information may be processed by Google Mobile Ads and its service providers as necessary to:

• deliver advertisements;

• measure advertising performance;

• provide personalized advertising where permitted;

• prevent fraud and abuse;

• maintain security; and

• comply with applicable legal obligations.

Google and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own according to their respective privacy policies and applicable legal requirements.

We may also disclose information if required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the App, or others.

5. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Performance recordings, recording titles, custom sounds, sound assignments, and App settings are stored locally on your device.

They generally remain on your device until you:

• delete them through the App where the relevant option is available;

• clear the App's storage; or

• uninstall the App.

We do not maintain a cloud copy of your locally stored performance recordings or custom audio files.

Because DarbukaBeat does not require user accounts and we do not maintain a server-side user profile for these features, there is no DarbukaBeat account to delete.

Information processed independently by advertising providers may be retained according to their own privacy policies, legal obligations, and retention practices.

6. Advertising and Privacy Choices

DarbukaBeat uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

Depending on your device, region, and applicable privacy laws, you may be presented with privacy or consent choices related to advertising.

You can also manage certain advertising and privacy preferences through your Android or iOS device settings.

Where consent is required by applicable law, advertising-related processing may depend on the choices you make through the consent interface or operating-system privacy controls.

7. Security

We use the App's private device storage for locally saved performance recordings and custom sounds where applicable.

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage, processing, or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Children's Privacy

DarbukaBeat is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13, or the applicable minimum age required by law in your jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through a DarbukaBeat account or our own servers because the App does not require user accounts and locally created performance recordings are not uploaded to us.

Third-party advertising services may process information according to their own policies and applicable legal requirements.
