Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy describes how the CalmMum AI application collects, uses, processes and protects your information when you use our AI-based emotional support services. This application is designed for use in Australia, Ireland, and South Africa.
CalmMum AI is designed to be used in a fully anonymous manner, in alignment with internationally recognised privacy principles (including GDPR-equivalent frameworks):
No Registration or Login: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal or biometric identity data in order for the chat to function.
Subscription Link: Your Premium subscription status is managed strictly through the native identifier of your ecosystem account (Apple ID on iOS or Google Account on Android). We do not have access to, collect, or store your payment details or financial information.
In order to provide empathetic responses and accurate transcriptions, the application uses third-party technology providers in a secure manner:
Text: Messages sent in the chat are processed in an encrypted form via the Groq API (using Llama/DeepSeek models).
Audio: Voice messages are converted to text via the Deepgram API.
Processing Security: Your text and audio are transmitted in an encrypted form and processed in isolation. This data is used solely and exclusively to generate a real-time response within your session and is not stored by the AI providers for model training or any other commercial purpose.
Your chat history remains stored exclusively on your own device in local storage (using lightweight encryption via Hive). We do not operate database servers that retain the content of your conversations or interactions. If you delete the application, the local history will be permanently removed with no possibility of recovery.
As we do not collect personal data on our servers, we do not maintain any user identification history in a cloud environment. You have full control over your local data by clearing the application cache or uninstalling it at any time.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect improvements. We will notify you of any changes by publishing the new policy directly on this page and displaying a visible notice within the application.
This Policy is governed by applicable data protection legislation in your country of residence, including but not limited to the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the Irish Data Protection Acts, and the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
