News Sphere ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a news-reading app that shows worldwide news suited to your age and chosen language. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how. By using News Sphere, you agree to this policy.
In short: News Sphere does not require an account, does not ask for your name or contact details, and does not collect or transmit your personal information to us. Your settings and reading history stay on your device.
We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information to our servers. News Sphere has no user accounts and no login.
The following information is entered or generated only for the App to function, and is stored locally on your device. It is never sent to us:
Age. You enter an age during setup so the App can show age-appropriate topics. Your age is stored only on your device and is used solely to filter which news categories you see. It is not transmitted to us or anyone else.
Preferences. Your chosen language, country focus, read-aloud (text-to-speech) setting, and selected voice are stored on your device.
Saved articles. Articles you bookmark are stored on your device.
Reading history. To power the "Suggested for you" feature, the App keeps a record on your device of which articles you open, including their topics and keywords. This information stays on your device, is used only to rank suggestions for you, and is never uploaded.
Cached news. Recently loaded articles are cached on your device so the App can work quickly and offline.
Because all of this information lives only on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the App (see "Your Choices and Data Deletion" below).
News Sphere displays news from public RSS feeds and news services operated by third parties. When the App loads news, headlines, images, or a full article, your device connects directly to those third parties. As with any internet request, those third parties automatically receive technical information necessary to deliver the content, such as your device's IP address, general request details, and approximate location inferred from your IP address. We do not control and are not responsible for how those third parties handle this information.

Google News — when you choose to focus the news on a specific country, the App retrieves results from Google News. Your use of that content is subject to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

The read-aloud feature uses the speech synthesis built into your device's operating system (Apple's on-device text-to-speech). The text of the article is processed by your device to generate audio. We do not receive or store any audio.
News Sphere contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising or any other purpose.
News Sphere is designed to be suitable for readers of different ages, including children, by limiting the news topics shown to younger age groups. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. No name, email, photo, location, or contact information is requested or collected. The age you enter is used only on your device to filter content and is not collected by us. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please note that the App has no mechanism to transmit such information to us; nonetheless, you may contact us using the details below.
Change your settings at any time in the App's Settings screen (age, language, country, voice, and read-aloud).
Delete all App data by deleting News Sphere from your device. Because all preferences, saved articles, reading history, and cached news are stored locally, removing the App permanently deletes them from your device.
We do not retain any of your information because we do not collect it. On-device information persists only until you change your settings or delete the App.
Information handled by the App remains on your device and is protected by your device's operating system and security features. Connections to news providers use standard secure (HTTPS) connections where supported by those providers.
News Sphere can be used worldwide. When you load news, your device connects to the news providers you have selected, which may be located in other countries. By using the App, you understand that content is retrieved from providers that may process requests internationally.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
