Kairo ("Kairo," "we," "our," or "us") is a social app for adults that allows users to create profiles, discover content and people, interact with others, and communicate through social features. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use Kairo, including how certain profile information is processed by artificial intelligence ("AI") features.

Kairo is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account or using Kairo, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we may delete the account and related information.

We may collect information about how you use Kairo, including features and pages you view, interactions with profiles or content, time spent in the app, activity logs, preferences, and settings.

Device and Technical Information

We may collect device model, operating system, app version, IP address, language settings, device identifiers, crash logs, and performance data.

Location Information

Kairo may collect approximate location information, such as city or region, based on your IP address, device settings, or permissions you grant. We use this information to support location-based social features, improve relevance, and protect the service. You can manage device-level location permissions through your device settings.

AI Profile Data and AI-Generated Results

Kairo uses OpenAI as a third-party AI service provider to analyze selected profile information and generate AI-powered results.

Information Sent to OpenAI

For this purpose, Kairo may send your bio, interests, age, and job information to OpenAI. We limit the information submitted for this analysis to what is reasonably necessary to provide the AI feature. We do not send your email address, phone number, login credentials, private messages, or profile photos to OpenAI as part of this profile-analysis feature unless we separately disclose that use and obtain any permission required by law.

Purpose of the Processing

OpenAI processes the submitted information on our behalf to generate profile-related insights, summaries, suggestions, recommendations, or other personalized outputs used within Kairo. OpenAI is not permitted to use this information for its own independent advertising purposes.

Your Permission and Choices

Before Kairo sends the profile information described above to OpenAI for AI analysis, we will provide an in-app notice and ask for your permission. You may decline without losing access to Kairo's basic account, profile, content, discovery, and communication features, although AI-powered features may be unavailable or less personalized.

You may withdraw your permission for future AI analysis through Kairo's settings or in-app privacy request channel. Withdrawal will stop future transfers for this purpose, but it will not reverse processing already completed. You may delete existing AI-generated results where the app provides that option or request their deletion through Kairo's in-app privacy request channel, subject to applicable legal and safety exceptions.

OpenAI's Processing and Retention

OpenAI processes submitted data under its applicable API terms, privacy commitments, and data controls. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train or improve its models by default unless the API customer expressly opts in. Kairo will not opt in to use your AI Profile Data to train OpenAI's general-purpose models without updating this Privacy Policy and obtaining any additional consent required by law.

OpenAI may temporarily retain API inputs, outputs, and related safety information to operate its services, detect abuse, comply with law, and protect its services or others, subject to OpenAI's applicable data controls. AI Limitations

AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate and should not be treated as verified facts about you or another person. Kairo does not use AI profile analysis as the sole basis for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

With Other Users

Information you choose to add to your profile or share in public or social areas may be visible to other users. This may include your photos, nickname, age, profile text, interests, posts, and other content you choose to share.

With Service Providers

We may disclose information to third-party providers that help us operate Kairo, such as cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, customer support tools, security and moderation providers, authentication providers, payment processors, and OpenAI for the AI processing described in Section 4.

These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for us, subject to their contractual obligations and applicable law.

For Safety and Legal Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request; protect the rights, safety, and property of users, Kairo, or others; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or policy violations; or enforce our Terms of Service.

Business Transfers

If Kairo is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Kairo may allow users to send messages, upload photos, create posts, and share profile content. You are responsible for what you choose to share, and you should avoid sending sensitive personal information to other users.

We may use automated systems and, where necessary, authorized manual review to investigate reports, enforce our rules, maintain safety, comply with law, and protect the service.

7. Safety and Moderation

We may use automated systems and manual review to detect or prevent spam, fake accounts, harassment, fraud, illegal content, harmful behavior, and violations of our community rules or Terms of Service.

Where appropriate, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or delete accounts.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Kairo, operate the features you use, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

AI-generated results may be retained with your account for as long as needed to provide and personalize the relevant AI feature. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information, including associated AI-generated results, within a reasonable period unless retention is required or permitted for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Information processed by a service provider may also be retained for the limited periods described in that provider's applicable terms and policies.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

You may submit a privacy request through Kairo's in-app support or privacy request channel. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device and account credentials.

11. International Data Transfers

Kairo and its service providers, including OpenAI, may process or store information in countries or regions outside the place where you live. These locations may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

12. Third-Party Services

Kairo may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Information you provide directly to a third party is governed by that third party's privacy policy. We are not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party services.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app or by other reasonable means. The revised Privacy Policy will become effective on the date stated at the top of the updated version.
