- Why it's needed: To save your custom word replacement pairs, preferences, and activation status locally on your browser.
- Privacy guarantee: All saved word pairs are stored 100% locally on your machine using Chrome's built-in storage API. Your custom rules never leave your browser and are never uploaded to any remote server.
• Host Permission / Access to Webpages ("<all_urls>")
- Why it's needed: SwapIt needs permission to run content scripts across websites so it can inspect text elements (DOM nodes) and automatically swap out your chosen words or phrases in real time as web content loads.
- Privacy guarantee: The extension inspects text elements purely in-memory on your local device to perform immediate text replacement. SwapIt DOES NOT record, log, store, analyze, or transmit your browsing history, webpage content, messages, logins, or keystrokes.
2. DATA COLLECTION AND SHARING
• Zero Data Collection: We do not collect, capture, store, or sell any personal data, IP addresses, browsing activity, or web page content.
• Zero Tracking & Telemetry: SwapIt contains no analytics scripts, tracking cookies, pixels, or third-party monitoring tools.
• Zero Third-Party Sharing: Because we do not collect any data, there is nothing to share with third parties or advertisers.
3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
SwapIt does not connect to external servers or transmit any data across the network during regular operation. Everything happens self-contained on your device.
